We are seeking for a Procurement Specialist in Pathum Thani, Thailand.

This position will support the sourcing with suppliers in the APAC region in support of NPD (New Product Development) programs as well as looking for new Asian based suppliers to replace or enhance current supply base. This role requires strong technical and financial acumen, and a background in commodity sourcing and management.

  • Manage supplier relationships.
  • Keep management informed of relevant developments.
  • Author and execute sourcing strategies for principal assigned commodities.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery terms, and lead times.
  • Identify, coordinate, and manage projects designed to save money, reduce risk, and/or improve quality.
  • Prepare, distribute, and manage Requests-For-Quote to meet departmental goals.
  • Evaluate quotes for appropriateness based on industry knowledge.
  • Research and evaluate potential vendors to determine suitability of materials, meet new production requirements and/or to replace poor-performing vendors.
  • Participate with the SQE department on vendor site visits for the purposes of auditing and qualification.
  • Coordinate procurement activities on new-part release processes.
  • Support the engineering department in clarifying and determining requirements for sourcing new products and material for use in pre-production engineering phases of development as assigned.
  • As needed place POs to suppliers for new product development and customer service.

This position requires

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering.
  • 3 - 10 years’ experience in Procurement/Strategic Sourcing.
  • Experience working with or for Contract Manufacturers a plus.
  • Experience with Asian Electronics and Mechanical supply base.
  • Possess good oral and written communication in English.
  • Experience working with MRP systems, specifically SAP experience a plus.
  • Act with integrity, demonstrate adaptability, and develop self through learning and feedback. 
  • Convey a sense of urgency, persistence, and commitment.
  • Think strategically, analyze issues, use sound judgment, and innovate.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
