Fulton Hogan is looking for a Procurement Manager to join our Civil Construction team and make a significant impact on our projects and operations. We are looking for a dynamic and commercially savvy professional with a knack for creating value and striking the right deal. As the Procurement Manager, you will be at the forefront of our procurement activities, ensuring the success of our construction projects through strategic and tactical procurement. Your role will involve working closely with our Bid Management teams, leveraging your commercial acumen and entrepreneurial flair to provide a competitive advantage in securing new work. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing complex packages of work, and ensuring effective delivery and acceptance by project stakeholders.
 

In addition to the above you will:  

  • Execute strategic and tactical procurement activities to support project delivery.
  • Influence decision-makers in tender meetings and utilising our vertically integrated strength to maximise business opportunities.
  • Develop innovative procurement systems and challenge existing processes to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage the procurement process for complex mechanical equipment with long lead times, including foreign exchange considerations.
  • Establish and manage processes for day-to-day contract and supplier management.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Project Management staff, bid teams, and project controls, to ensure commercial compliance and successful project outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to team members on procurement best practices and systems.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (preference for procurement or civil engineering).
  • Full member of CIPS or working towards qualification as a full member.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in procurement, preferably within the Construction industry.
  • Proven experience in a mature purchasing function, including supplier selection, enquiry, and negotiation.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence decision-makers.
  • Innovative approach to systems and processes, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
