The purpose of the role:

We are currently looking for a Procurement Manager to be based out of our Lomondgate site in Dumbarton. This role is essential to the success of the business and will be key in leading and developing the procurement team and redefining our identity and proposition.

The objective is to work with the Operations Team and Global Procurement Team to leverage the footprint of the function, drive commercial strategies for the key spend areas, and collaborate with the local team to implement projects and deliver against the manufacturing plan.

Key Responsibilities

The key focus areas for the Procurement Manager role are:

  • You’ll lead a team of Procurement Professionals, coaching and directing them to develop category plans and effective sourcing strategies.
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance, and look to develop our ways of working and support continuous improvement.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance, manage performance and implement improvement activities if required.
  • Identify, research, evaluate and obtain approval for new suppliers that can meet Aggreko’s standards.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make cost savings for the business.
  • Work with other procurement and operation leaders across the business to control direct spend.
  • Identify opportunities and work closely with internal stakeholders on current and new initiatives.
  • You will have the opportunity to review, manage, build and develop relationships with a range of key suppliers.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Have experience of working with eProcurement, ERP and Microsoft tools (M3 would be extremely beneficial).
  • Experience managing complex commercial delivery programs and having ultimate responsibility for procurement, forecasting and inventory spend within either a country and/or business unit.
  • Experience in managing direct spend for good and services across a multi-site organization is desirable.
  • It would be great if you have experience working with a range of global stakeholders and cultures as this position will collaborate with global Aggreko community.
