The Process Engineer will be responsible for providing process-engineering support to manufacturing operations.
Duties and Responsibilities

Provide process-engineering support for PCB assembly operations including SMT, Hand Load, Wave Solder, Hand Soldering, Component Prep, Press Fit, Component Programming, and Mechanical Assembly.

Review reflow and wave solder profiles.

Evaluate process problems and provide solutions.

Support New Product builds and enter DFM issues into Process Manager database.

Interpret mechanical drawings, assist in Mechanical Process development, and understand torque requirements and mechanical fastening techniques.

Develop and implement tooling used for product assembly.

Review new product designs for manufacturability issues and conformance to company design guidelines.

Drive the release process for new products, from prototype phase to full production phase.

Provide process engineering support for products deployed to outside contract manufacturers.

Evaluate manufacturing and component problems and provide resolutions.

Other projects and assignments may result and be assigned to accommodate the changing needs of the department and the Company.
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field required

Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of education requirements

5-10 years of previous process engineering experience in PCB electronics manufacturing, including New Product Introduction experience required.

SMT and Through-hole specific equipment knowledge including reflow and wave solder equipment, screen printer set up/troubleshooting, pick and place equipment, and automatic insertion equipment.

Strong working knowledge of the entire PCB assembly process, including MPM screen printers, Universal and Assembleon SMT equipment, and Electrovert wave solder equipment required.

Minimum travel is expected in this position.
