Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Process Engineer located in Northfield, MN.

Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer will support large-scale manufacturing processes that produce Aerospace Technology products.  Sheldahl, a Flex company, has supported the space industry since 1958 by providing thin film materials to space missions worldwide

What a typical day looks like:

  • Working closely with the engineering and operations teams to implement process improvements that lead to increased yield and productivity
  • Participating in the development of new thin film products that are manufactured on large-scale vacuum deposition machines to support our Aerospace customers
  • Using Six Sigma & Lean tools to verify process improvements and present results using statistical and graphical techniques
  • Developing & maintaining process documentation for large-scale manufacturing processes.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university
  • 1 – 3 years of experience on a similar role
  • Has a desire to work in a manufacturing environment that operates 24/7
  • Has demonstrated the ability to move fast with discipline and purpose by being persistent and prioritizing the most impactful work
  • Has demonstrated the ability to learn & adapt while working through challenges
  • Has demonstrated strong collaboration by continually building relationships in teams so that the whole team can work towards finding a better way
  • Has demonstrated respect & value for others through open communication and considering the perspectives of all team members
