Bain Capital Credit is currently seeking to hire a [Vice President/ Director] focused on Fund Financing. This role is the quarterback of our fund financing activities across our Private Credit Group. This role can be based in Boston or New York City.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
As a key member of the team, this person must combine intellectual and analytic depth with a collaborative style, versatility, and detail-orientation as well as strong external facing skills to banks and a broad range of debt capital markets investors. This person must have a strong sense of the fund financing market and its participants and be a thought leader around driving strong execution in our deals. They must manage a network of external contacts to manage the origination and maintenance of our financing facilities. They will be responsible for managing the terms we accept in documents and coordinating with Portfolio Managers and the internal and external legal departments to understand the market landscape.
The ideal candidate will have established a career in fund financing, have a strong understanding of its players and the various structures employed. They will understand key legal terms, rating agency structures and processes. They will be a self-starter who is highly organized and focused on driving the best outcomes for our liabilities. They will be someone ready to join a highly collaborative and motivated team.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Lead the structuring and execution of fund financing across a spectrum of credit funds including private credit, broadly syndicated credit and special situations funds.

Manage our fund finance plan globally and be a thought partner to Portfolio Managers on lender management, optimizing financing terms, and overall asset-liability alignment.

Oversee financing facility documentation alongside existing legal teams and work with Treasury & Operations teams to monitor compliance with covenants and key terms over the deal life

Work with the Treasury & Operations teams to ensure operational readiness, borrowing base management and overall facility optimization.
QUALIFICATIONS

4-8+ years of experience working in financing structuring either at bank or buy-side institution

Strong understanding of various financing structures and spread products including asset backed financing SPVs, NAV facilities, Total Return Swaps, CLO warehouses, and bespoke private securitizations

Good understanding of the global fund financing community including banks, rating agencies, insurance companies and other non-bank lenders

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail

Ability to decipher complex legal documents and credit agreements

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to engage with many individuals throughout the organization

Ability to multi-talk and work in a high-paced, team-oriented environment

Expected Annual Base Salary $200,000 – 300,000

Actual base salary will be determined by several components including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.

Additional compensation: In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team, and firm performance.
