Role: Print Designer 

Location: Grand Rapids, MI – Hybrid/Onsite (2-3x/week) 

About the role: 

OLIVER is partnering with BISSELL to build an in-house agency that will set new standards for creative excellence and brand engagement. As a Print Designer, you will play a key role in developing high-quality print materials that support brand, marketing, and communication strategies in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This role requires expertise in print design, Point-of-Sale (POS) materials, retail packaging, and marketing collateral. You will work closely with the Creative Director, production teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure that all deliverables meet the highest standards of design and technical execution. Your attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects, and knowledge of printing processes will be essential to success. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to explore emerging GenAI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, automate design adaptations, and drive innovative solutions in print production. If you are a creative professional who thrives in a collaborative team environment and has a passion for print design, we’d love to hear from you! 

What you will be doing: 

  • Design, develop, and adapt branded POS materials, retail packaging, and print marketing collateral from concept to final production while maintaining brand consistency. 
  • Act as a brand guardian, ensuring all design work aligns with BISSELL’s brand identity and marketing objectives. 
  • Interpret design briefs and deliver innovative design solutions. 
  • Create and refine artwork, knife lines, and dielines, ensuring alignment with production specifications. 
  • Prepare print-ready files with precise attention to color accuracy, trapping, bleed, and finishing requirements. 
  • Work with marketing and production teams to ensure campaign assets are easily adaptable for multiple formats. 
  • Collaborate with printers, packaging suppliers, and manufacturers to proof designs and ensure high-quality output. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues efficiently. 
  • Stay current on print techniques, materials, and packaging innovations, bringing fresh ideas to the team. 
  • Ensure all marketing materials meet regulatory compliance standards, working with the compliance team. 
  • Utilize GenAI tools where applicable to automate design adaptations and enhance creative efficiency. 

What you need to be great in this role: 

  • 3+ years of experience in print design within an advertising agency, marketing agency, or equivalent environment. 
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in Point-of-Sale (POS) materials, Print, and Packaging design. 
  • Experience working in the CPG sector and an understanding of print product marketing. 
  • Familiarity with CGI, photography, and video production workflows. 
  • Excellent knowledge of binding methods, knife lines, dielines, and prepress file preparation. 
  • Ability to prepare and manage print-ready assets while ensuring compliance with color settings, UV coatings, and spot color printing. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and collaborate effectively with internal and external teams. 
  • Interest in AI-powered creative tools, with a willingness to explore how GenAI can optimize print design workflows. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft 365, and Mac OS. 
  • At the time of this posting, the base salary for this position may range from $55,250.00 to $61,750.00. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. The range listed is just one component of OLIVER’s total compensation package.
