Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Contracts Administrator to join its team of qualified and diverse individuals supporting its C4 Missile Defense (C4MD) Business Unit. The successful applicant will assume contracts responsibilities for the Global Mission Command and Control (GMC2) Operating Unit, which has a primary presence in Huntsville, AL but the selected candidate can work on-site at any one of our Major Northrop Grumman sites such as (Oklahoma City, OK, Elkton, MD, Linthicum, MD, Warner Robins, GA, Northridge, CA, Orlando, FL, Melbourne, FL, McLean, VA, Plymouth, MN and Lake Charles, LA)
The job assignment is primarily for large proposal activities but will include some sustainment contracts. This job can be filled at a level 3 or 4.
Job responsibilities include:
- Lead solicitation review/analysis, proposal preparation, and signoff;
- Negotiate, administer, extend, and close standard and nonstandard contracts;
- Provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications;
- Establish successful working relationships with customers via email, telephone, and in-person, when appropriate;
- Collaborate effectively with the program team (finance, supply chain, quality & mission assurance, legal, pricing, and compliance) to recommend and complete actions to ensure satisfactory program performance;
- Work with program business management team to closely monitor contract funding and payments;
- Examine estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness;
- Advise management of contractual rights and obligations;
- Maintain historical information including official correspondence.
Basic Qualifications:
- (Level 03) -Must have 10 years of experience in lieu of degree; Bachelor’s degree with a 6 years of contract administration experience -OR- Master’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of contract administration experience or additional years in lieu of a degree
- (Level 04) - Must have 14 years of experience in lieu of degree; Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of contract administration experience -OR- Master’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of contract administration experience or additional years in lieu of a degree
- 4 years of experience managing proposals and negotiating nonstandard contracts
- 5 years of experience in U.S. Government Department of Defense contract administration / management with working knowledge of FAR/DFARS
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Clearance
- Must be able to travel domestic and internationally as needed to support program and capture needs.
Preferred Qualifications for both levels:
- Master’s degree or higher in business, contracts, or law
- Demonstrated experience working independently on complex contract management responsibilities, including contract and regulatory compliance, and negotiations (price, terms and conditions, and technical requirements)
- Demonstrated experience managing contractual risk during both the proposal phase and the execution phase
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to be flexible and change directions when needed
Salary Range: $76,600.00 - $133,100.00Salary Range 2: $95,000.00 - $164,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
