We are looking for a Principal Sourcing Manager to join our Procurement Team in the heart of buzzing Berlin!

As a Principal Sourcing Manager you report directly to the Head of Procurement. You will use your skills and experiences to shape and further professionalize our young Procurement team and help to strategically shape and optimize our supplier relations.

You will:

  • Lead strategic supplier communications together with the respective business teams, developing and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships across categories.
  • Manage complex sourcing projects, including RFPs, supplier selection, and high-value contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement strategies align with business objectives.
  • Monitor supplier performance and lead improvement initiatives in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Identify and mitigate supplier risks, ensuring business continuity.
  • Drive innovation and value creation through supplier collaboration and market insights.
  • Shape and build the next level of Procurement at Babbel together with your Procurement colleagues and the relevant stakeholders.

You have:

  • A degree (Bachelor or Master) in Business Administration, Management or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain management. Experience gained in a Software-as-a-Service (“SaaS”) environment is a plus.
  • Proven experience in supplier relationship and category management, contract negotiation, and managing multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to actively manage stakeholders and build consensus.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and enthusiasm to pragmatically improve the status quo.
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction and delivering exceptional service to internal stakeholders, ensuring procurement is seen as a value-adding partner.
  • The ambition to shape and further improve our Procurement practices.
  • The ability to use core procurement skills independently and self-assured.
  • Business fluency in German and English (verbally and in writing).
