About the role:

As the Principal Product Owner, Payments (m/f/d) at Redcare Pharmacy, you will define and lead our overarching payment strategy, ensuring it drives meaningful value for customers, partners, and the business. This role goes beyond simply overseeing day-to-day payment operations, it centers on shaping a visionary approach that aligns with Redcare Pharmacy’s broader objectives, market opportunities, and regulatory considerations.

About your tasks:

  • Strategic Payment Vision: Define and refine a long-term, customer-centric payment strategy that aligns with Redcare Pharmacy’s overarching business goals and market opportunities that is centered around finding the balance between reducing friction for the customer and reducing costs. Champion a forward-thinking payment culture across teams, encouraging innovation and fostering best practices in payment operations and solutions. 
  • Drive strategic decision making: Lead in-depth analyses of various options forward, encompassing regulatory requirements, competitive advantages, financial impacts, and organizational readiness. Develop clear, data-driven recommendations and present them to senior leadership, influencing key decisions that shape the company’s financial and operational future.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Development Team and other executive stakeholders to ensure full alignment between payment initiatives and broader organizational priorities to ensure the execution of the payments strategy towards a seamless payments experience and operations.  
  • Risk and Compliance Oversight: Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Security teams to ensure that payment strategies adhere to all relevant regulations, including data privacy, fraud prevention, and PSD2 mandates.
  • Performance Measurement and Optimization: Establish high-level KPIs to assess the effectiveness of payment initiatives, aligning them with broader financial and operational metrics. 

Qualifications

About you:

  • Domain Expertise: Extensive experience (5+ years) in product management, ideally within e-commerce or fintech environments with an understanding of marketplace models. Familiarity with how payment service providers work, PSD2, PCI-DSS, and data privacy regulations.
  • Strategic & Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated track record of shaping and executing a forward-looking product strategy, particularly in the payments or financial services domain. Experience leading cross-functional projects and influencing senior stakeholders to drive key decisions.
  • Analytical & Decision-Making Skills: Proficiency in leveraging data and insights to inform strategy, measure performance, and optimize outcomes. Ability to conduct cost-benefit analyses and risk assessments, providing clear, data-driven recommendations to leadership.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical and strategic concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Passion for staying ahead of emerging technologies, market trends, and best practices in payment systems.

Our offices are open, but you are free to work from home, from any location in Germany. It is entirely up to you if you want to pop into the office every now and again, or if you work from home all the time. At the same time, we value relationship between all members of the area and therefore we have regular team and area anchor days on which every team member is asked to come to the office.
