A Day in the LifeThe preferred working location for this role is the Medtronic facility located in Mounds View, Minnesota; however, the individual may also work remotely within the US or onsite at another US-based Medtronic facility.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to deliver and support IT solutions within the CST Business group. As part of the CST IT team, you'll focus on designing and implementing solutions for our e-commerce platform and integrated systems like SAP, Informatica, Snowflake, and webMethods, working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
As a Principal IT Business Analyst supporting Neuroscience OU strategy, you'll play a crucial role in a rapidly growing international healthcare company, leveraging your expertise in the medical device market to gain independence in your work. You'll join a dedicated global team at Medtronic, a market leader in medical technology and healthcare solutions. Our Cranial and Spinal Technologies business develops life-restoring technologies and solutions for Neurosciences, Neurosurgery, and Spine, spanning from early interventions to implantable surgical therapies.

BUSINESS ENGAGEMENT AND STRATEGY

  • Engage with business leaders to understand and translate strategies into actionable, data-driven solutions that enhance efficiency and add value.

COLLABORATION AND REQUIREMENTS GATHERING

  • Collaborate with Business Relationship Managers, stakeholders, and IT Product Owners/Managers to develop detailed business requirements for system changes.
  •  Participate in requirement gathering sessions, story writing, script creation, and reviews with Business stakeholders and SMEs.

SOLUTION DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION

  • Lead and coordinate enhancements with business and IT stakeholders and implementation partners.
  • Work with our e-commerce platform team and SAP systems and platform teams in building best in breed solutions.

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT

  • Engage in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for enhancements, including story hand-off, writing test scripts, conducting integration testing, UAT Test support, data loading, and defect management.

LIAISON AND SUPPORT

  • Act as a liaison between business and IT, providing production support, analyzing issues, and identifying root causes.
  • Collaborate closely with IT implementation partner teams on development and support activities.

SAP AND E-COMMERCE EXPERTISE

  • Advise on SAP-related designs and enhancements for the e-commerce platform and SOM modules.
  • Address SAP questions related to marketing, new processes, or product acquisitions, and provide support for SAP deliver questions related to sales orders.

DOCUMENTATION AND COMPLIANCE

  • Maintain extensive documentation on enhancements, SAP customization, and processing.
  • Follow Medtronic release management guidelines and processes for coordinating changes with SAP systems.

INNOVATION AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

  • Bring new ideas and improvements to existing IT solutions.
  • Stay up to date with the latest e-commerce and SAP technologies.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independence and Leadership: Work independently under limited supervision, developing approaches to solutions and coaching lower-level specialists. May manage projects or processes within the job area.
  • Organizational Impact: Contribute to work group objectives, building relationships and consensus to reach agreements on assignments.
  • Innovation and Complexity: Tackle complex problems that require understanding of multiple issues and specialties, making process improvements to enhance job area performance.
  • Communication and Influence: Communicate effectively with senior internal and external customers and vendors, exchanging information and influencing decision-making.
  • Leadership and Talent Management: Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees, managing projects and delegating work as needed.

MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and 12+ years of experience

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience or advanced degree and 5+ years of experience

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Strongly Preferred:
    • Previous Medtronic experience
    • Experience in SAP – Sales Order Management (OTC) and Deliver
    • Experience in working with SAP integrations and various integration technologies
    • Experience in working with highly motivated teams in solving complex business problems
    • Experience in working with onsite/offshore model and working with vendor partners
    • Experience in testing, integration testing, testing tools, defect tracking, etc
    • Experience in working in an agile environment and exposure to tools like JIRA, HP ALM, and Microsoft technologies
  • Knowledge of the Hybris platform and cron jobs
  • Exposure to AI/ML technologies
  • Proficiency in understanding data models and writing SQL queries.
  • Experience in working directly with business with multiple stakeholders in an environment with competing priorities  
  • Experience in building solutions, presenting solutions to mid to senior leadership teams

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$108,000.00 - $162,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
