The Role
This is an opportunity for a highly motivated Principal Software Engineer to lead development efforts in a collaborative team to deliver the next generation of customer authorization solutions supporting Fidelity business applications. This role encourages new perspectives, creative thinking and rewards individuals who are passionate about technology and problem solving. The ideal candidate brings experience developing containerized applications, familiarity with security concepts, and experiencing leading development teams. We value the ability to team with engineers & architects across organizations and communicate clearly throughout the development lifecycle -- all while demonstrating a dedicated focus on protecting our customers' digital experiences at Fidelity.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
§ Proven experience with Java, Spring framework, RESTful and/or GraphQL API development
§ Proven experience with Datadog and/or Splunk
§ Skilled in implementing policy-based authorization solutions with Open Policy Agent (OPA)
§ Proven experience designing and implementing container-based solutions, preferably Kubernetes on EKS or AKS
§ Proficiency in working with algorithms and data
§ Strong leadership skills directing work for development teams and mentoring engineers
§ Adept at communicating technical solutions, risks, and business value to peers and leadership in written, spoken, and presentation form
§ Experience with Agile Methodology
§ Dedication to learning new and complex technologies and able to teach others about those technologies
The Team
The Workplace Security Services team is part of the Workplace Customer Protection Center of Excellence and supports protecting thousands of employers and millions of participants. The team develops client-facing cybersecurity applications that help us win and retain institutional clients, as well as Authorization, B2B Security and Single Sign-On infrastructure software components that are the backbone for many of Fidelity’s web business applications including NetBenefits, PlanSponsor WebStation, and FocusPoint.
