The Principal Engineer works with technical leads, Application Developers and Architecture in the analysis, design, coding, implementation, and modification of Greenphire applications. The Principal Engineer works to maintain and improve the code quality and design patterns used in Greenphire Applications.
Responsibilities
- Design and Build Full-Stack Solutions that leverage AWS-managed services to optimize scalability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness, focusing on both backend (Python/Django) and frontend (Angular).
- Lead Cloud Transition Initiatives by integrating AWS services into current architecture, advising on best practices, and building solutions that align with Greenphire goals.
- Mentor and train development staff members in full-stack engineering best practices, with an emphasis on cloud-native, containerization and AWS-supported technologies
- Write, bench test and review code across the full stack, ensuring code quality and alignment with industry standards.
- Drive Agile Development and Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to refine requirements, define specifications, and ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain existing reports, forms and programs to support current implementations and on-going programs/products
- Document Technical Decisions and Architecture for knowledge sharing, audits, and future scalability.
- Support application deployment, and troubleshooting of production environments
- Collaborate with internal and external clients to define requirements and specifications in response to user requests
- Champion Security and Compliance Standards (SOC, PCI, ISO) by integrating secure coding practices and conducting code reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and/or training
- Previous experience leading in development required, especially mentoring and guiding teams in full-stack technologies
- Comfort and familiarity with working in a Linux/Unix/BSD environment
- Experience with AWS, Python, Django, and Angular
- Practical experience with AWS cloud services, particularly in leveraging managed services for application development, scalability, and security
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with OWASP security best practices
- Experience in FinTech and Healthcare
