Position Purpose:
Create, modify, and enhance automation, mechanization, and other facility technology and infrastructure leveraging engineering principles. Principal Design Engineer will collaborate internally and externally to integrate designed production solutions and other material handling components that satisfy requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

40% Design Creation - Serve as layout creation expert during the operations design phase by providing high quality 2D and 3D drawings.

20% Cross Functional Collaboration - Coordinate with Automation, Controls, Design Build or Maintenance functions to mark possible obstructions, document mechanical manuals and troubleshooting guides, and preventative maintenance schedules.

20% Strategic Planning - Participate in strategic planning and facilitate action on these plans for the assigned area.

10% Develop & Facilitate Cost solutions - Design and develop warehouse cost estimates for solution alternatives and conduct financial models for comparison purposes. Ability to improve with regards to achieve economic use of materials.

5 % Communicate Timelines & Concepts - Effectively communicate schedules, design concepts, and training to personnel.

5% Provide Industry Innovations - Serve as industry expert on best practices and latest innovations. Participate in various learning platforms and willingness to become certified in applicable technologies.
