Position Overview
Autodesk's Digital Employee Experience (DEX) team is seeking an experienced Principal Content Strategist. This role is instrumental in driving innovation in content experience design, conversation design, and knowledge management so we can deliver a world-class digital employee experience that empowers all Autodeskers to shape the world and their future.
As a member of the Content Design and Knowledge Strategy team, you’ll collaborate with various partners across internal organizations to help our team deliver and scale a knowledge strategy across a connected network of enterprise products, platforms, and services. You’ll provide thought leadership, vision, frameworks, and governance models that enable DEX to design and build clear, consistent, and inclusive employee experiences.
Responsibilities

Define and drive the necessary tactics to build a scalable knowledge management approach for all phases of the content lifecycle across internal organizations

Provide content experience design leadership, standards and frameworks, and content governance models to ensure all internal content creators can express a consistent, cohesive voice throughout our connected employee products and platforms

Use broad knowledge of information architecture principles, including taxonomy, hierarchy and structure, to deploy strategies for logical, scalable, and connected experiences

Design and develop conversational design experiences and improve processes for generative AI-driven content development and delivery across multiple platforms

Craft user-interface text and in-product messaging that meet internal standards and guide employees to be successful using DEX products and platforms

Collaborate as an equal thought partner with Engineering, Product, and Business to roll out complex, cross-organizational content initiatives, including the requisite change management for our users

Mentor other content designers and guide teams to use a holistic approach to clarify patterns, cycles, dependencies, and relationships

Drive collaboration efforts across the ecosystem of internal content creators within Autodesk, ensuring our content management efforts are efficient, aligned, and achieving our shared goals

Serve as a key resource within the organization, effectively communicating with stakeholders about content experience design processes and outcomes

Conduct research to validate work, leveraging data to guide decision making and offering suggestions on how to measure success

Use deep product and industry knowledge to inform workflow designs and influence product strategies

Participate in, contribute to, and actively represent DEX in company-wide strategic initiatives, distilling information back to the team
Minimum Qualifications
-
8+ years of experience developing high-quality, in-product content experiences and knowledge management strategies for software applications and teams

Broad knowledge of information architecture principles, including taxonomy, hierarchy, and structure

Proven experience in partnering with cross-functional partners to enable and execute large, complex initiatives

Demonstrated ability to align big-picture design thinking with business goals to provide teams with frameworks and guidelines for successful execution

Demonstrated experience in visual storytelling, with exceptional communication and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively convey both large-scale ideas and detailed nuance across various levels, functions, and stakeholders

Portfolio that demonstrates expertise with knowledge-centered service, data-driven decision making, and the design, strategy and management of content

Ability to thrive and create clarity when project requirements are agile, and rapidly and constantly evolving
Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency or certification in knowledge-centered service methodologies

Experience as a design lead or leader, energy for and interest in coaching and mentoring others

Experience with internal product experiences and internal support environments

Understanding of LLMs and their application particularly with conversational interfaces/conversational design, and experience using generative AI in content development

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $133,300 and $215,600. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
