We are seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in container orchestration (AKS and GKE), exposure with Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) offerings, and extensive knowledge of Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role focuses on designing, building, and optimizing containerized and serverless solutions, managing cloud service lifecycles, and supporting seamless migration from on-premises to the cloud.
He or she should be able to determine technical standards, specifications and leads the design, build and support of Cloud services for our existing Cloud Hosting Platform. Should have the ability to collaborate with Product, Application, Infrastructure and Security teams to review product designs and optimize them for cloud performance and scalability.
Your responsibilities include…

As one of the Key members of Cloud Engineering team you will be involved in building Cloud based product, features and solutions for existing Cloud Platform on Azure and GCP.

Design and implement scalable container solutions using AKS, GKE, Helm charts, and YAML configurations.
-
Develop and maintain robust serverless solutions using Azure Functions, Google Cloud Functions, or other FaaS offerings to enable efficient and scalable architectures.

Establish standards and frameworks for container orchestration, FaaS, cloud governance, DevOps, and DevSecOps practices.
-
Adopt Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform, Python, and Ansible for deployment, upgrades, and cloud lifecycle management.

Developing and maintain terraform modules, integrate with APIs for Cloud Product and services hosted on Azure and GCP Cloud.
-
Adopt and implement IAC and Non – IAC based automations for Cloud based product upgrades, deployment using existing Release Management framework.

Drive cloud migration projects, facilitating seamless transitions from on-premises systems to Azure and GCP environments.

Help conduct regular security assessments, remediate vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with enterprise security and governance frameworks.

Provide thought leadership on architectural designs, validate new initiatives, and effectively communicate solutions to stakeholders.

You will help to setup standards and framework related to Cloud, DevOps Engineering for Cloud based qualified Products and Services.

Lead technical projects and collaborate with third-party and partner teams to meet project goals and milestones.

Basic Qualifications:

Degree in Computer science or a similar field.

7+ years of experience as DevOps, Cloud Engineering / Architecture.
-
Proficient in developing codes, scripts and architect, design, develop cloud native solutions in Azure and GCP Cloud.

Expertise in containerization using AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) and GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine).
-
Proficiency in deploying serverless solutions using Azure Functions, Google Cloud Functions, or other FaaS platforms.
-
Hands-on experience with container solutions, including Docker containers, Kubernetes deployments using YAML & Helm charts.
-
Strong scripting capabilities using Terraform, Python, Ansible, JSON, and PowerShell.
-
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native development, and DevSecOps using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and other related tools.
-
Proven expertise in migrating legacy systems and applications from on-premises to cloud environments.
-
Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies and data-driven testing frameworks.
-
Familiar and have used Software Development best practices extensively.

In-depth knowledge of cloud cost methodologies and ITIL service management principles.

Troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Excellent Stakeholder Management skills.

Familiarity with multi-cloud deployment tools like Azure Arc, Google Anthos, and related frameworks.

Knowledge of FaaS security practices and best practices for managing serverless workloads.

Exposure to legacy infrastructure platforms (compute, database, storage, etc.) and experience modernizing these workloads in the cloud.

Familiarity with service discovery tools like Istio & Mesh.
