Principal Business Analyst

As a Principal Business Analyst in Services, you actively participate in making clients successful. Clients trust your advanced knowledge of the Backbase product portfolio along with overall Financial Industry knowledge and advise on how to utilize the functionality of our product. 

Meet the Job:

As a Principal Business Analyst, your goal is to define the vision of the bank on digital transformation. You plan and conduct complex inceptions.  You are the customer’s proxy product owner for a project and guide the client and the team in making the right choices to maximize project and customer success. Our clients and implementation partners see you as a trusted consultant. 

You are in contact with program management of the program/project you run with your team at the customer. You are a leader within your Core Team and work closely with the Customer Success Team for the customer(s) you represent.

You work closely with both our clients and development/SCRUM teams and contribute to other departments as needed. You act as a subject matter expert in terms of product implementation and industry knowledge. Where customisation might be necessary you also work with Backbase R&D colleagues to explore all out-of-the-box product options and where product cannot be used you recommend enhancements to the product. You leverage industry practices and promote them internally. You also provide mentoring to other Business Analysts roles. You lead engaging workshops with our customers to identify all functional requirements needed and you actively contribute to the BA Chapter/Guild.

How about you:

• 7-10 years of experience in a similar role;

• Ideally, 1-3 years experience in Backbase;

• 3-5 year experience in Banking or in the Financial services industry;

• Preferably, has worked in multiple domains in the Financial services Industry specifically with regards to Digital Banking;

• Expert and deep knowledge in at least 1 specific Backbase Line of business (Retail, SME, Onboarding, Lending);

• Expert at Agile methodologies and related frameworks like Scrum or Kanban;

• Masters Degree in Business, IT or similar;

• Professional working proficiency in the English and local language;

• Certification associated: IIBA CBAP.
