The Enterprise AI/ML Product (Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Product) organization powers real-time, intelligent banking at Capital One through cutting-edge AI/ML capabilities and safe scaling of business-led innovations. Enterprise AI/ML is launching Capital One AI use cases and capabilities, advancing state-of-the-art AI technologies, building a well-managed enterprise platform, and delivering an easy-to-use platform experience.
Our team:
The Chief of Staff team supporting the Enterprise AI/ML Product organization sits at the intersection of associate experience, strategy, and department operations. No two days are the same with responsibilities ranging from associate engagement, new hire onboarding, financial management, and strategic planning/execution.
Your role:
As a Principal Associate, Chief of Staff, you will report directly to the Sr Director, Chief of Staff for the Enterprise AI/ML Product organization and directly support our growing organization. The person in this role will establish and run operating routines for senior leadership, execute on special projects, and serve as a liaison between the organization and partner groups such as Tech, Finance, Recruiting, and more.
The ideal candidate should have experience with senior level strategic communications; project, process, and budget management; and managing highly diverse cross-functional stakeholders. We are looking for someone with demonstrated executive presence, exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills, expertise in relationship-building, comfort with data, an ability to solve complex problems, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives at once. You will be a thought leader and collaborate with smart and passionate leaders influencing results that are high-visibility and high-impact.
You will work to drive efficiencies, collaboration, innovation, and outsized value across the organization. We are looking for a passionate team member who loves diving into ambiguous and challenging problems. You will need to be highly organized and emotionally intelligent to work with our leadership team to drive strategic planning efforts, keep a pulse on team health, morale and engagement, and ensure key business priorities are successfully executed. The ideal candidate can connect the dots between good process and great results, effectively influence others to achieve organizational goals, and facilitate a vocal leadership team toward purposeful outcomes. Candidates should be self-motivated, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, executive presence, and a passion for solving complex problems.
Responsibilities:
- Manage operating routines for the organization including monthly business reviews, leadership team meetings, town halls, and more
- Prepare and facilitate reviews of cross-functional materials to be used in senior leadership forums
- Support associate experience efforts including the management of our new mentorship program, differential investment programs, and new hire onboarding
- Flex into special projects, providing additional support and thought leadership for top of house priorities
- Support annual Talent and Performance management program management
Successful Candidates will:
- Have demonstrated experience with developing a strategic execution plan and influencing others to participate in planning activities
- Be highly effective operating autonomously with exceptional judgement on when/how/who to ask for support
- Be capable of operating in rapidly changing environments, with the ability to build relationships across functional lines
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
- At least 4 years of experience in project management, process management or risk management
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Masters
- 2+ years of analysis experience or strategy experience
- 3+ years of experience partnering with senior stakeholders across different business functions
- 1+ years Experience in the financial services and tech industries
- 1+ years Experience working closely with executives
- 1+ year of experience or equivalent coursework in AI and ML technologies
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Chicago, IL: $106,700 - $121,700 for Principal Project Manager
McLean, VA: $117,300 - $133,900 for Principal Project Manager
New York, NY: $128,000 - $146,100 for Principal Project Manager
Richmond, VA: $106,700 - $121,700 for Principal Project Manager
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
