Job Description

The Performance Marketing team at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a dynamic and strategic Principal Advisor - Audience Journey Architect. This role is pivotal in aligning business strategy with audience needs across the donor lifecycle through prioritized, data-driven audience journeys. The Principal Advisor - Audience Journey Architect will drive giving at scale by deepening retention and nurturing donor loyalty through an audience-influenced, data-driven approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with enterprise teams to orchestrate donor journeys that enable the best experience and outcomes for audiences and key business objectives.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize donor behavior and performance data to drive decisions, creating, prioritizing, documenting, and socializing key donor journeys.
  • Marketing Automation & Personalization: Work closely with implementation teams to drive marketing automation and personalization through the adoption of a customer data platform.
  • Transformative Leadership: Lead the transformation of marketing journeys from channel- and program-led to audience-led.

Qualifications:

  • Strategic Acumen: Deep strategic acumen with the ability to advocate for business decisions, articulate potential trade-offs, anticipate outcomes, and clearly communicate risks and opportunities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
  • Audience-Centered Marketing: Extensive knowledge of audience-centered digital marketing strategies that drive key business goals at scale, including engagement, acquisition, retention, and loyalty.
  • Data Literacy: High level of data literacy to analyze strategic performance against budget and projections, recommending donor journey activations. Proficiency in data tools such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, and Tableau dashboards.
  • Influential Leadership: Ability to influence broadly across a matrixed organization, with excellent communication skills to convey strategic recommendations and performance among diverse audiences.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven experience in leading, collaborating with, and motivating cross-functional partners, including mass marketing teams, analytics and insights, experience, creative, media, and technology.
  • Conflict Resolution: Ability to settle disagreements amicably and navigate team dynamics to include diverse ideas and ways of thinking.
  • Testing & Optimization: Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative testing approaches to optimize audience journeys and drive performance.
  • Marketing Technology: Extensive understanding of current marketing technology offerings and the ability to stay current with emerging digital trends to support engagement, acquisition, and retention goals.
  • Technical Knowledge: Technical and strategic knowledge of online and offline marketing channels, DMP, CDP, and targeting tools, creative, user experience, and paid digital media.
  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 8 years of experience in digital marketing, user experience, product management, or management consulting, including 3 years in a lead role as a consultant, people manager, or leader of cross-functional teams.
