This position involves performing analysis, pricing, and proposal work for new business opportunities as well as assessing the profitability of current Dedicated & Final Mile operations. The Specialist will manage the entire new business process from reviewing requests for proposal to data analysis, fleet design, pricing, proposal writing, and assisting in presenting solutions to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Review customers' requests for proposals, analyze data, develop and optimize transportation solutions, develop pricing models, proposal wiring, and participate in customer presentations for new and existing business.
- Develop and maintain pricing model and reports.
- Work with account executives, operations management, internal Werner Enterprises departments, and our customers to develop optimal strategies for dedicated business design and cost modeling.
- Analyze profitability of current dedicated operations utilizing profit and loss statements and revenue statistics along with other internal reporting systems.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
- Some travel may be required for customer visits and presentations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
- One to two years statistical analyst experience such as accounting/finance preferred.
- One to two years personal computer experience. (MS Excel).
- Six months to one year transportation experience preferred.Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word experience essential. Microsoft Access/similar database experience a plus.
- Knowledge and understanding of financial statements.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills.
- High degree of accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain all aspects of work performed to Management, Account Executives, and customers.
- Transportation knowledge/experience preferred.
- Self starter with ability to manage RFP/Pricing Process and startup process for new business awards.
