Convelio is a licensed freight forwarding startup evolving at the intersection of Tech, Logistics and the Art World. The startup specialises in the global shipping of high-end goods: paintings, sculptures, basically any valuable or bulky merchandise.

We've developed our own proprietary algorithm to offer competitive real-time shipping quotes and an end-to-end logistics service to the art market. Our mission is to become a tech-driven company in a traditional industry, and therefore make the shipping of bulky and valuable items as easy as possible by providing an online and seamless experience.

We currently serve a wide range of customers from art galleries, antique dealers, auction houses, online platforms to interior designers.

With 130+ colleagues scattered across Paris & London and now New York as well, Convelio has a strong start-up & international culture. We thrive in solving complex logistics issues for our clients, enabling both sellers and buyers in the art market. We are backed by proven technology, prominent VC’s, and boast a global network and the resources (€30 million Series B funding in March 2022) to seize the market opportunity

🎩 Your Role:

You will play a key part in crafting and implementing our pricing strategy, which is at the heart of Convelio’s value proposition. Your role will start with acquiring a deep understanding of the logistics chains we operate and of our broader industry. Your tasks will be a mix of data-based analysis and cross-functional project execution. You will be working hand in hand with the Pricing, Product and Tech squads as well as Sales and Business Development and local Operations teams on a wide array of topics.

This is a 6-month internship.

👍 What your team will look like

You will be a key part of our Pricing team, a global team of 4 designing and implementing a wide array of projects to enhance Convelio’s competitiveness and profitability. The Pricing team reports directly to our co-founder and COO Clément and supports Convelio’s high-level business objectives through 3 main types of endeavors:

- Deliver the analyses backing our strategic orientations and assessing their success

- Structure and carry out projects making our pricing more efficient

- Build, automate and run pricing maintenance processes

✏️ What you'll do:

1. Carry out the quantitative and qualitative analyses and research feeding into the design of our pricing strategy (c.40% of your time)

- support the identification of improvement areas and the prioritization of projects by quantifying their micro and high-level business benefits

- assist in framing the content of projects enhancing our algorithm’s benefits to its direct users, our end-clients (through our online open quoting platform and API) and Convelio’s Operations teams (through our internal quoting tool)

2. Maintain and improve our current pricing models (c.30% of your time)

- act as the Operations teams go-to counterpart for pricing model corrections and improvements

- run our algorithm’s update recurring tasks

- model offline pricing tools for targeted needs

3. Support in delivering algorithm-enhancement projects (c.20% of your time):

- build the cases backing the prioritization of projects and ensure the seamless handover of these projects to our Product and Tech teams

- iterate with the Product and Tech teams and test their output.

4. Automate recurring tasks and processes where relevant (c.10% of your time):

- identify and prioritize areas (e.g., manual processes, recurring analysis tasks) where automation holds the most value within Pricing team’s perimeter

- automate the tasks.

🧑‍🎨 Your profile:

- You are a last-year student at an engineering or business school or university with a focus on analytical topics

- You have strong analytical skills, in particular:

- you have a proven ability to manipulate and analyze extensive numerical datasets

- you are a synthetic mind with organizational and structured expression skills

- you are highly proficient in Excel and Google Sheets

- You are perfectly fluent in English

- You have excellent communication skills, you are humble and you enjoy sharing and learning from others

- You are enthusiastic, ambitious, self-motivated and hands-on with a strong work ethic

- You enjoy working in a challenging fast-paced, target-driven and team-oriented environment
