Your Role

The Presentation Designer will be responsible for working with the Executive Communications Team and the Co-CEOs to create visually engaging and on-brand designs for a variety of communications materials, including slide presentations, banner graphics, organization charts, process diagrams and other digital and print collateral that help drive strategic messages throughout the firm.

The Executive communications team is responsible for designing all materials for both internal and external communications on behalf of the CoCEOs. The designer in this role will be comfortable and thrive on creating visual communications in the form of presentations that range from the traditional 16x9 aspect ratio to extra-wide supergraphics for 400 – 600 person in-person leadership meetings. Together with the Managers and other contributors the presentations are designed to connect our people to the firm, our purpose, and the work that we do.

A successful candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment where the key to success is heavy communication, rapid iterative editing and strong organizational skills. The successful candidate will quickly acclimate to the firms’ culture, adapt to and be familiar with the various leaders (people), resources (tools) and other knowledge networks to accomplish a wide variety of projects and tasks. The ability to juggle multiple short- and long-term deadlines is key. Continual prioritization is critical to the day-to-day success of this role. Desire and ability to work overtime is also key. This position will be in Gensler's Los Angeles office 5 days a week.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Director of Executive Communications and other Brand and Graphic Designers digital, email, and print collaterals, primary in support of key internal and external strategic communications working with our firm leadership including the Co-CEOs

  • Collaborate with the Executive Communications Team and Co-CEOs to produce bi-monthly all-firm broadcasts conceptualize and design effective slide decks, including design and development of the format, messaging, and corresponding visuals (datasheets, industry reports, infographics, and product visualizations)

  • Ability to be creative and engaging in all visual communications, while adhering to brand style guidelines

  • Provide ad hoc graphics support for internal presentations and special projects as assigned

  • Commitment and ability to stay on the cutting edge of industry best practices, introduce innovative ideas, new approaches and tools, including AI tools, to the team

Your Qualifications

  • 5+ years of presentation design, brand design, or graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing communication materials such as slide decks

  • Experience working with company leadership a strong plus

  • Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn new tools and techniques, including AI to streamline design process

  • Comfortable working with all levels of an organization

  • Ability to start, pick-up or hand-off an in-progress project as-needed

  • Proficient in managing multiple tasks with varied deadlines, a self-starter who can keep projects moving

  • Solid project management skills; ability to coordinate, prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously and often independently

  • Strong graphic design experience including expertise in typography, composition, and layout design, with a keen eye for detail and alignment

  • Deep understanding of brand identity and visual communication principles. Ability to adapt and implement brand guidelines across various mediums.

  • Ability to tell stories through design, by transforming abstract ideas into visual narratives that resonate with the audience

  • Ability to animate slide presentation and add motion graphics or video to slides

  • Proficient in design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote, and other related tools.

  • Working knowledge of HTML and Java Script

  • Video editing experience is a plus

*In Los Angeles, the compensation range is between $85k-95k plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience*
