Reporting to the Creative Lead, the Presentation Designer 1 is an integral part of the design team and broader creative Center of Excellence (COE). This position supports the creative development of global marketing and communications presentations and materials to support the firm’s promise of understanding our clients and those we interact with on a daily basis. The presentation designer partners closely with internal clients to understand business challenges and bring creative solutions to life across various mediums, while keeping in line with brand standards and industry best practices.
This role frequently collaborates with stakeholders to craft the narrative, owning presentation design/layout/slide creation, incorporating feedback, while meeting high quality benchmarks and timeline expectations. The Presentation Designer understands storytelling through presentations, presentation best practices and creates their supporting graphics or animations, photos, illustrations, infographics and data visualizations to bring the story to life. They have an intimate knowledge of building presentations in PowerPoint and other presentation tools, as well as in impeccable visual aesthetic paired with a firm understanding of the fundamentals of design and the RSM brand.

The individual in this role is energized by finding new solutions to common problems, thrives on collaboration and communication and enjoys ideating with others in a global setting.
Brand responsibilities:
- Demonstrates brand stewardship: understands the vision of the brand and develops creative to support and build it.
- Translates our brand identity into presentation and other creative assets that drive brand awareness and business growth.
- Supports and maintains best practices and organizational procedures in file management and other critical processes.
- Participates in team meetings, supports and acts as an advisor to internal clients on creative projects.
Design responsibilities:
- Develops engaging, visually appealing, informative and articulate presentations that effectively communicate complex data and insights to various internal & external audiences.
- Embraces new technologies, techniques, tools and solutions to help advance the design team and greater firm’s presentation capabilities.
- Distills complex and abstract concepts to emphasize key messages with infographics, diagrams, animations, icons, graphics, charts, photography, and illustrations within presentations.
- Translates data into easy-to-understand infographics, charts, graphs and other data visualization that support the presenter’s voiceover or story.
- Exercises creative freedom within the brand guidelines, keeping the material fresh while maintaining brand consistency.
- Acts as an advisor to individuals in the organization on presentation best practices, where applicable.
- Identifies technology, trends and methods to continually advance the firm’s storytelling skills through presentations.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
(MUST NOTE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED)
Bachelor's degree or certificate in Graphic Design, or equivalent experience required.
TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS
(MUST NOTE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED)
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.; required. Motion graphics/After Effects a plus.
- Expert level experience designing presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint is required. Proficiency in other Microsoft Office programs is required for daily operations and communications.
- Experience designing presentations in Google slides, Prezi, Keynote and other tools is required.
- Fearless attitude towards technology and a willingness to learn new design skills is required.
- Ability to receive design feedback and balance with your own voice and point of view and expertise on style and aesthetic; required.
- Exceptional communication skills in global, virtual environments; required.
EXPERIENCE
(MUST NOTE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED)
- At least 6 years of experience in a presentation design role in a business or agency setting.
- At least 2 years of experience working with a robust, established corporate brand, in an in-house capacity; preferred.
- Experience working with individuals at varying levels of the organization, ready to advise them on presentation best practices, and support for effective use of PowerPoint and related tools.
- A strong portfolio of work to demonstrate skill and experience; required.
- Experience storyboarding and high-end presentation design skills, including infographics, animation, builds, dynamic charts, etc.
- Possesses a drive for creative excellence. Consistently delivers high quality solutions and possesses passionate points of view on design, the art of presenting and best practices.
- Passion for pushing the creative boundaries of PowerPoint and other tools.
