The Financial Division oversees all accounting and financial reporting for American Financial Group and Great American Insurance Group.
Our Financial Division is hiring for a Premium Audit Manager to join their team! This position can be fully remote depending on the candidate. Candidates local to Cincinnati, OH will work on a hybrid schedule.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Oversees Premium Audit team operations, optimizing workflows and ensuring high productivity.
- Oversees thorough auditing of insureds' financial records are completed to verify the accuracy of reported premiums, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Manages the review and analysis of financial statements, payroll records, and other relevant documents.
- Leads the resolution of discrepancies in policyholder records by coordinating with producers, underwriters, insureds, leadership, and other internal departments, providing guidance and recommendations for process improvements.
- Oversees the review of certificates of insurance and ensures appropriate class codes for specific exposures, as needed.
- Oversees the analysis of claim activity on policies and ensures consistent and accurate employee coding.
- Reviews and presents detailed audit reports to senior management, providing clear and actionable findings that support strategic decision-making.
- Oversees the delivery of excellent customer service to policyholders.
- Monitors and evaluates premium audit practices, implementing strategic adjustments to improve overall effectiveness and outcomes.
- Ensures the team is knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure that all audits are conducted in compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and state laws.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk Management and Insurance, or a related field or equivalent experience.Experience: Generally, a minimum of 10 years of experience in Premium Audit, Underwriting, Accounting, or Finance, including a minimum of 4 years of leadership experience. Insurance accounting experience preferred. Continuing progress toward and/or the completion of a professional designation preferred, such as Associates in Premium Audit Program (APA), Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), or Associate of Risk Management (ARM).Scope of Job/Qualifications: Typically manages 2 or more reports. Implements policies, procedures, and strategies under the direction of management. Leads and mentors audit employees, ensuring they excel in their roles. Serves as a senior resource on policy, procedures, and industry regulations. Responsible for identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and service quality. Responsible for performance and coaching of staff and decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management. Ensures new members of the team receive proper training and meet performance targets.
