Job Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage all employees in the Production Department including Operators, Hi-lo drivers, Custodian and Leaders. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of direct reports. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training, mentoring and coaching, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience:
3-5 years' previous supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Associate's degree in business or technical preferred. Metal stamping, machining and weld/assembly experience. 5 years' changeover or related work experience. Able to work weekends when needed. Willingness to attend training and develop skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving experience including completing A3. Follows MPTSH policies and processes and ensures the team is following. Conflict resolution experience. Excellent attendance and satisfactory work performance record.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Ability to obtain a Hi- Lo permit.
Additional Skills:
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers. Able to communicate in English effectively (both written and oral).
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, sing whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient on the computer, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Prior experience utilizing AS400 Database software and ability to create spreadsheets.
Communication Skills: Ability to use active listening and assertive communication when needed. Ability to give positive and constructive criticism feedback effectively.
Problem Solving Skills: Is able to conduct individually or in team settings structured problem solving. Understands and can apply 5 Why methodology, skillful in analysis of problems, research to identify root causes and find solutions, creativity to find robust and effective solutions to problems. Able to make decisions based on available information. Has sufficient technical knowledge to support effective problem solving. Able to accurately complete A3 problem solving form.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to be on the production floor where they would be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the production environment is usually moderate to loud. Hearing protection is required. The employee is occasionally exposed to low levels of vibration. At times the employee will be in an office setting. The noise level in the office environment is usually low to moderate.
