We are key partners with the world’s leading medical devices, semiconductor, scientific analytics and industrial systems manufacturers. When they want to push the limits of what’s possible with high voltage applications, they turn to us to make it happen.

While Spellman is not a household name, our products are used to make and often power many of the most advanced technologies that make modern life possible. With design and manufacturing sites in North America, Europe and Asia, we have become the preferred provider of high voltage power solutions for OEMs pushing the boundaries of technology around the world by designing and producing the products they need to power progress.

Who You Are

There are hardware engineers and software engineers, and then there are Power Electronics Engineers who speak the language of machines and understand the physics of electrons in semi-conductive materials, capable of bringing an idea to life- from human thought, to digital blueprint, and ultimately, into physical reality. You are our kind of Power Electronics engineer if you are:

  • energized to solve power delivery challenges and evolve technology to meet tomorrow's needs

  • curious and insightful, you comprehend the interconnected facets of a system and can provide solutions that account for multiple dimensions

  • dialed into established standards, and interested in evolving technical standards

  • organized and methodical, you can handle complexity with precision

  • you are inherently driven to get things done, and know how to make the right connections with people, processes, and priorities to make it happen

  • you have deep knowledge in power electronics design and simulation, as well as digital control

What You Will Do

As a Power Electronics Engineer at Spellman, you will be central to our mission of powering progress for a better future. You will design power supplies that can create and control high voltage electricity using cutting-edge technology, and in some cases, developing new technology to do so. Every day will bring a new challenge, but in general you can expect to:

  • collaborate with other experts and partner with customers to create power delivery systems that meet demanding specifications

  • investigate new techniques, and research new technology to improve existing designs so that they can meet future demands

  • accurately and thoroughly document the design for manufacturing, or later modifications

  • test your designs using state-of-the-art simulation methods

  • manage your work by aligning cost, timeframes, manufacturing requirements, and other resource constraints
