Tasks and Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and support hardware / software solutions for Modernisation and Upgrade projects;
- Provide a complete controls design solution for a material handling project including electrical design, software design and commissioning - whilst ensuring the solution meets the requirements of the project and carried out within cost and time scale constraints;
- Maintain Dematic's image as a top quality, professional company, by adopting an honest, professional and attentive approach;
- Understand the constraints of working on live sites and provide solutions that minimise the disruptions to client operations whilst working within the project scope;
- Provide support, attend to system faults and perform investigation and fault rectification where necessary;
- Perform site supervisory duties on controls projects when required;
- Support the sales team with controls costings and design concepts and recommending spare parts.
Job requirements:
- You have a minimum of HNC/HND education in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline;
- You have hands-on experience working in a similar role, including controls design and commissioning within an automation-based industry, ideally within the automated warehouse industry;
- You have an advanced understanding of PLCs: Siemens S7 and TIA Portal
- You have an advanced understanding of fieldbus systems and I/O equipment, e.g., Profibus, Profinet, ASi, TCP/IP;
- You have an advanced understanding of other controls automation related equipment, e.g. Bar code scanners, HMIs, Variable frequency drives;
- You have an understanding of relevant standards governing the controls automation industry;
- You have knowledge of the Machinery Directive and the measures needed for compliance.
- You are fluent in Dutch and English
