Role & Responsibilities

Platform Management

• Develop and maintain Product and Technology Roadmaps - work with inputs from market, sales,regions,suppliers,internal Valeo teams, etc and regularly present at product strategy reviews.  Both contribute to and align with group Strategic Product Planning

• Actively develop and record Market Intelligence data on customers & competitors, technology suppliers.  as part of competitive knowledge and utilise as part of strategic product planning

• Develop and maintain the Product Configurator & Platform reference/standards working also with eng discipline leaders

• Work with Business Development/Sales teams to create links to key OEM contacts, gather awareness of OEM product needs and future direction in relation to scope of platform. Present Valeo technology to OEMs. Support business development at OEM tech days and maintain a product sample portfolio for demonstration.

• Manage product benchmarking strategy and planning, prepare yearly benchmarking strategy with targets liaising with eng discipline to complete

• Ensure knowledge of key supplier product roadmaps and guide/direct engagement with key suppliers in cooperation with system architects/eng disciplines, and assess the market for new technology suppliers for core product technology.

Platform Innovation

• Manage Innovation development for the platform - Define new platform projects (P3/P2) to advance product innovation/competitiveness and meet market needs - create project proposals as part of MTP planning. 

• Support funding program - IDA,Tax credits by creating supporting proposals and/or guide/support projects to create as necessary

• Ensure IP Protection and clearance for innovation for the platform - support teams at IP Mining session and ensure completed for platform projects. 

Platform Deployment

• Generate and Maintain Platform dashboards relevant to platform scope and work with group platform director for overall group reporting 

• Manage deployment and adherence to Platform standards by Platform committee approval. Approve new RFQ proposals for the platform, ensure region platform integrators are aligned to platform.

• Support P1 application teams in application of platform by guidance & direction inputs, Guidance to platform integrators in regions.

• Prepare and maintain the DTC (design to cost) cost roadmap for the R&D platform and provide direction to application teams in deployment. Ensure levers are considered at RFI/RFQs stage for new applications. 

• Support the deployment of Valeo CAP50 in Platform, Ensure technical levers are agreed for the platform and define a rollout strategy in both platform (P2) and application projects (P1,P0) liaising with relevant Mechatronic project management. 

• Release the necessary training modules related to the platform to product development teams in development centers & regions

Product & Architecture Management

• Work collaborative with Business Development,Regions,Customer offices to assess market growth opportunities and impact on product roadmap

• Maintain product portfolio of solutions to be promoted to customers

• Supports RFI/RFQ with product architecture proposals

Team Management

• Management of team resources across ECU projects

• Provide Technical Leadership and decision making to the Architecture team -local and global

• Maintains regular communication with relevant global R&D mgmt 

• Maintain up-to-date org charts for the team, tracks dept numbers - global view
