Maersk is on multi-year program to revamp its technology and digital solutions footprint and as part of new strategy, SAP will act as the ‘digital core’ for company’s finance processes enabled by SAP’s latest cloud and S4HANA offerings. Maersk has currently ECC based SAP finance solutions running for Ocean and Logistics segments and plan is adopt a green field approach towards implementation of S4 HANA digital solutions.  Platform product team is accountable for the product roadmap and works in an agile manner, across functions and stakeholders in defining and developing the product technical requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the business (BPO/FPO/GPL/Execution) in developing the product roadmap and developing product technical requirements 
  • Managing actively the product backlog including clearly defining product backlog items and prioritizing items based on business goals and optimization of work in the agile team
  • Involving in sprint planning meetings to help provide clarity and elaborate features and user stories to help the scrum team better understand the requirements and how success will be measured
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for Business Product teams, providing insight, context and additional information as needed to help understanding of what is required
  • Working collaboratively and coach other Platform Product Owners & Managers across platform organization to refine the backlog and identify cross journey dependencies
  • Engaging with scrum teams regarding resources and functional expertise required in the agile team
  • Working cross-functional to ensure that the agile team has what it needs and remove blockers that prevent the agile team to maximize the delivery of digital products
  • Keep the S4 digital core clean and execute responsibilities keeping the 3 tenets in mind i.e Data Quality, Standardisation and Automation.

Who we are looking for:

  • Commerce Graduate /Postgraduate from a recognized university. Qualified Chartered Accountant, or CPA or ACCA or MBA from premiere institute will be added advantage.
  • Experience with S4HANA implementation and engagement with large finance transformation initiatives
  • In depth domain knowledge (10 years +) in the Accounting to Reporting area.
  • Experience in working with business process and functional product owners in understanding business requirement and solution design.
  • Experience in developing a roadmap based on agile methodology for Accounting to Reporting areas.
  • Experience across BW, SAC, FI, GL, AA, MDG-F, RAR and Consolidation modules.
  • Experience on localization capabilities incl integration of BRIM, FICA, MM, Inventory Management and PS modules with FICO.
  • Experience with bolt on solutions like Blackline, OneStream, Vertex, Thomson Reuters tax engine, Robotics, AI etc. will be an added advantage.
  • Experience working with Agile, Scrum and Waterfall delivery models.
  • Proven experience with managing complex stakeholders and ability to influence without authority
  • Good problem solving & communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset across business functions
  • Flexibility to work in a program environment that is demanding in nature
  • Ability to manage change – understand concepts of change management with demonstrated capabilities
  • Well-versed in current best practice information and trends in the external marketplace. Understands the impact and benefits that new practices could bring to the organization and is willing to implement changes.
  • A strong communicator with a clear and concise presentation style, who can convey with consistency in a manner that is readily accessible and understandable to all.
