Group Summary:
The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts first off/last off and in process verifications as per CP (Control Plan)/JES (Job Element Sheet) requirements
- Performs direct tasks of testing/measuring parts and applies experience, knowledge and judgement to ascertain the acceptability of parts, including SPC data entry and analysis
- Following Quality Alerts, measurements and testing ensures that all comply with all requirements contained in Control Plan/JES
- Prepares and submits test results and rejected reports to Customer Quality Specialist/Quality Supervisor and Quality Manager and maintains/files records, ensuring document control and correctness of data; all appropriate paperwork is completed, filed and retrievable
- Participate in problem resolution process (input) in resolving quality concerns of internal and external customers, as well as feedback on the viability of improvements
- Conducts quality inspections on purchased components to ensure incoming supplier parts conform to specifications as per Receiving Control Plan
- Ensuring lot traceability and the maintenance of records pertaining to traceability is properly recorded and completed per Dortec quality protocol
- Ensure rejected parts in assigned areas/lines are segregated, identified and quarantined following the DMN/QPF process and timely follow up of disposition using containment work sheet
- Audits, if any, reworked parts or salvaged components to meet all specified requirements per Control Plan including lot traceability prior to reintroduction into the production system. Containment worksheets are included in the required audits
- Responsible for escalating information and data on processes or parts not meeting established Quality requirements to Customer Quality specialist, Assistant Quality Manager and/or Quality Manager per Dortec Quality Protocol
- Participate and conducts Layered Process Audits (LPAs) as per released scheduled and follow up any action items found during the audit
- Ensure daily, that operators are performing quality inspection as per Quality Alert instructions
- If required, support training new personnel in Quality Control inspection and investigation techniques including third party inspectors
- Identify and must be able to react to any anomalies of control characteristics (LV)
- Must perform incoming Heat Treatment verification on all heat-treated product and elevate any anomalies to Customer Quality Specialist (when required)
- Generate statistical studies as required and maintain accurate lab test records using the approved software (minitab)
- Perform in process performance inspection - per IP test Control Plan. Collect parts for Closures Technical Lab and ensure data being sent back in time
- Report all unusual conditions or results, unsafe conditions, broken or out of calibration equipment, as well as procedures not in effect to the Customer Quality Specialist and/or Quality Manager
- Must adhere to all MAFACT requirements
- Must adhere to IATF 16949 standard including OEM Customer Specifics
- Must comply with all ISO 14001 (Environmental Standard) and Magna & Dortec Health and Safety systems as it pertains to their work
- Abide by all AODA and C-TPAT procedures that apply to their position
- Perform other duties as required
Qualification and Skills
- Completion of post-secondary education in Quality or Engineering related field preferred
- ASQ or CQT or equivalent certificate an asset
- Detail oriented with excellent analytical observation ability
- 3 years' previous experience working in an Automotive Quality Department
- Prior experience using metrology and analytical equipment such as Height Gauge, Micrometer, Optical Comparator, Calipers, Tensile Tester, Force Gauges, Attribute and Variable Gauges
- Blueprint reading skills and knowledgeable of SPC and correct measuring techniques
- Above average computer skills necessary in Microsoft applications. Team Center, Compliant Pro & minitab experience an asset
- Neat, legible writing ability in order to complete and maintain logs and records
- Auditing skills and experience required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Energetic, organized multitasker to maintain effectiveness in fast-paced production environment
- Meets current performance expectations
- Understanding Dortec Customer expectations
