Planning Intern

Hi, I’m Ron, looking for a Summer 2025 Planning Intern.

Who Am I?

I am a hardworking and dedicated team member within the Carpenter organization. I have worked for the company in various production and planning roles for over 18 years.

What Do We Do?

Business Unit: Supply Chain/Planning

• We are responsible for setting production plans and driving execution of manufacturing goals. 
• We have monthly Sales, Inventory, Operations, and Planning (SIOP) that facilitates this process.

Ongoing Projects

• We are developing an enhanced version of SAP IBP (Integrated Business Planning) at Carpenter which will fully integrate the business. 
• The planning group is also always redefining the overall business through continuous improvement methodologies.

Your Role as an Intern

You will be a part of a dynamic team, supporting the following tasks:

The intern will be supporting Supply Chain continuous improvement projects within the planning and inventory department.

What Do We Require?

You must be:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program majoring in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field
• Candidates should possess experience with Excel, ERP Systems and the Microsoft Office Suite
• Ideal candidates will possess the following characteristics: Team Player; willing and excited to learn; self-motivated
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Willing and able to work on-site at our Latrobe, PA location.
• Applicants MUST be US Citizens or Green Card Holders due to Carpenter’s government contracts.

Pay Range

Hourly rates are based on: 1 – Program of study; 2 – Degree type (i.e., Bachelor’s); 3 – Progression in degree (i.e., 1st year, 2nd year, etc.). The range for this position is $19.50 - $22.00 per hour.

Commuting/Housing Assistance (If Eligible)

Interns who must commute to work from outside the immediate Latrobe, PA area (over 50 miles one-way), will be paid a one-time lump sum payment of $2,400 (less applicable taxes) as excessive commute allowance. Interns who choose to temporarily relocate from outside the immediate Latrobe, PA area (moving over 50 miles one-way), will be paid a one-time lump sum payment of $4,800 (less applicable taxes) as a housing allowance. If applicable, this payment would be made during the first payroll cycle, which would be three or four weeks following the internship start date.
