Role: Planning Engineer
Location: Angola
Easy Skill has made the decision to establish a specialized engineering planning team in order to provide consistent and reliable engineering performance on projects.
The selected candidate will be responsible for serving as an engineering planner for the allocated scope. Additionally, they will coordinate the team, supervise its members, and assign project/tender responsibilities.
The lead engineering planner is accountable for executing, upholding, and monitoring all engineering planning operations within a project/tender.
SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
- Be the focal point of contact for all activity related to engineering planning on a project or tender.
- Understand projects or tenders’ requirements; identify and address planning scenarios and problems; develop and implement solutions.
- Be forecast-oriented, anticipating and alerting at early-stage issues & impacts
- Establish, maintain, and follow up on plans and progress for new and established projects in accordance with the company’s planning procedures.
- Development and maintenance of the engineering Baseline schedule, including S-curves and reporting formats
- Organize flow of planning and progress information with internal and external sources, including establishing reporting routines for sub-contractors and following up on progress.
- Prepare reports as requested: progress, critical paths, float management, deviations, forecast
- Implementation of subcontractor plans into main schedule/plan
- Assure that schedule impact of changes get analysed in due time and implemented into relevant plans and be pro-active in early identification of deviations and corrective actions
- Participate, assuring good communication and follow-up of internal and external activities in the project. Reporting consequences/changes related to planned progress according to agreed reporting frequency.
- Prepare schedules as requested and, by anticipation, propose scenarios: detailed schedules, what-if simulations, and scenarios.
- Prepare an effective presentation for the project or tender team to discuss, summarize, and validate the planning assumptions and basis.
- Keep track of the main changes made to schedules through various revisions on tenders and projects.
- Record and submit the main all-as-built lesson learned, official, and written tender order to ensure benchmark and handover.
- Actively work together with the Planning team, the planning department, and the Project Performance team to ensure alignment and quality in deliverables.
- Provide specialist skills, integrity and knowledge of key areas of planning, share with other collaborators; and contribute to fostering planning awareness
- Actively contribute to discipline development and performance improvement
- Work in accordance with the company’s process and ensure they are applied
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Preferred Experience and Education
- Professional qualifications: education equivalent to degree in engineering or administrative discipline
- Software: Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
- Relevant previous experience at an appropriate level in the subsea or offshore environment.
- Previous experience of several projects.
- Relevant previous experience at an appropriate level in planning (more than 10 years recommended)
- Proven experience in Oil and Gas Engineering
- Proven experience in managing others
- Good level of English
- Good communication skills, oral, written and electronic
- Commitment to Continuing Professional Development

- Advanced knowledge in key areas of planning techniques and analysis
- A good understanding of current Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Offshore Installation processes in the Oil and Gas sector, with special emphasis on Engineering
