Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Planner is responsible for planning and managing the workload in the manufacturing facility. Plan the production orders, manage the workload and materials, optimize the productivity and efficiency results, maintain a delivery on time and within budget, and achieve the flexibility required to serve the project dynamics of the Vanderlande organization.
Essential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities):
- Review production orders and make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budget limitations and time constraints.
- Facilitate production to ensure maximum efficiency and that production processes are completed within the standard projected times.
- Review production and quality data and confer with employees to resolve production or processing problems.
- Initiates and implements work improvements processes by guiding the team and documenting actions and results.
- Monitor expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
- Coordinate with the departments Supply Chain Center, Procurement, Manufacturing Engineering and the Vanderlande Logistics Center to ensure blueprints, drawings and materials are consistently available to prevent errors and delays.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in the manufacturing industry
- Moderate computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Etc.…) including the ability to prepare spreadsheets to calculate data and trends.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Takes initiatives, is willing to take up challenges.
- Creates and drives opportunities to improve performance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three plus years manufacturing experience
- Lean certifications
- APICS certifications
- Working experience with MRP/ERP program J.D. Edwards preferred
- Production Planning, Procurement, or Inventory control work experience
- BA/BS Degree in Engineering, Materials Management, Business Administration or equivalent preferred

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday (40 hours a week)
Travel:
This position requires up to 10% travel.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
