Planner / Buyer (f/m/d)
The Planner Buyer is responsible for the end-to-end Demand & Supply Planning operations for the portfolio of the Pharma and Consumer Health segment.
Required to work in close collaboration with the different manufacturing sites and customers.
The main responsibilities are the following:
- Understand the interaction of production scheduling and materials flow to achieve required customer delivery
- Responsible for timely and precise raw material purchasing placing orders to suppliers/customers planning to meet production/forecast demand
- Communicate with suppliers and production sites, both via phone and e-mail, to ensure on-time delivery lead time accuracy
- Responsible to monitor production status vs. Supply Plans, anticipating potential issues, setting up priorities in alignment with key stakeholders, setting up contingency plans to ensure on-time and in-full delivery, and identifying root causes in case of delay to continuously mitigate risks
- Assist in establishing reporting and requirements to advance, delay or cancel previously scheduled materials and coordinate all supplier requirements and action plans with other departments
- Identify and react to short-term material plans that do not meet customer requirements
- Monitors and evaluates supplier performance
- Responsible for the life cycle of the purchase orders
- Responsible for the Forecast collection from the different customers in scope
- Monitors forecasts, and customer orders for unexpected changes and revises plans as required
- Analyze demand tendencies according to the clients’ forecasts and freeze orders
- Responsible for the Replenishment and Supply Planning in line with contractual lead times and product constraints
- Analyze data for inventory support, demand planning, and S&OP process
- Contribute to the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for the intercompany flows in close alignment with the manufacturing sites
- Monitor production status, anticipate potential issues, set up contingency plans to ensure on-time and in full delivery, and identify root causes in case of delay to continuously mitigate risks
- Manage the relationship and performance monitoring with external manufacturers
- Support cost reduction, lead time reduction, and inventory reduction programs with suppliers to support company goals
- Responsible for the master data accuracy of the business
- Ensure compliance to the EU Good Manufacturing / Distribution Practices (GxP) for medicinal products and to the current Swissmedic regulations
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science and 3+ years of Supply Chain Planning experience preferably in the life-science industry
- Good knowledge of ERP systems SAP or Oracle JDE
- APICS certification and/or Lean 6 Sigma certification a plus
