Chemours is seeking a Pigment Technology Leader to join our growing Titanium Technologies team. This position will be available at the Wilmington/Newark, Delaware location and report directly to the TT Global Technology Director.
This role is crucial in driving the development and implementation of innovative pigment technologies that align with our company's strategic objectives. The Pigment Technology Leader will oversee a team of scientists and engineers, manage research and development projects, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality pigment technology solutions to ensure the long-term growth of Chemours.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of pigment scientists and engineers. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages professional growth and development.

Innovation: As a member of the TT Technology leadership team, play a vital role in helping to build a winning innovation culture; assist in developing, managing, and aligning Technology strategy with the overall TT business strategy.

Research and Development: Oversee the research and development of new pigment technologies focusing on process technology and pigment design improvements. Drive projects from concept through to commercialization, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.

Technical Expertise: develop and oversee a team capable of providing technical guidance and expertise in pigment chemistry, formulation, and application. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in pigment technology and incorporate them into the company's R&D strategy in a manner aligned with business objectives.

Customer Relations: Collaborate when necessary with customers to understand their needs and requirements. Develop pigment solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including product management, manufacturing technology, sustainability, marketing, and sales to ensure the seamless integration of new pigment technologies into the company's product offerings.

Reporting and Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of all R&D activities. Prepare and present detailed reports on project progress, challenges, and achievements to senior management.

IP: Strengthen long-term business profitability by helping to refine and execute a comprehensive Pigment Technology IP strategy
The following is required for this role:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field

Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology or a related field. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing R&D teams.

Proven ability to lead and inspire a team. Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully delivering complex R&D projects.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Demonstrated capability for applying science and engineering principles to a wide variety of technical problems and quickly adapting to new areas of research.

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team.

Ability to translate, develop, and assess technology innovation opportunities into attractive business cases

Required travel: Approximately 10%
