Your new role
As a Picture Editor at LBC, you will be responsible for sourcing, editing, and managing compelling images to enhance LBC’s digital content. Working closely with journalists, producers, and designers, you will ensure that visual elements align with LBC’s brand and editorial standards and help to create impactful and engaging news coverage.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Editing Images – Select, edit, and optimize high-quality images for use across LBC’s website and social media platforms.
Working with Editorial & Production Teams – Collaborate with journalists and producers to ensure visual content aligns with LBC’s storytelling and brand identity. Managing Image Rights & Compliance – Ensure all imagery is properly licensed and adheres to copyright laws and editorial guidelines.
Reacting to Breaking News – Quickly source and edit relevant images to support LBC’s live news coverage.
Coordinating with Photographers & Agencies – Work with external photographers, picture agencies, and internal teams to secure high-quality images under tight deadlines.

Fast & Accurate Delivery – React swiftly to breaking news, ensuring the right images are available and edited within tight deadlines.
Compliance & Best Practices – Maintain strict adherence to copyright laws, licensing agreements, and ethical editorial standards.
Improved Audience Engagement – Contribute to increased engagement on digital and social platforms through compelling visual storytelling.
Strong Collaboration & Communication – Work seamlessly with teams across editorial, production, and social media to ensure a cohesive and impactful visual approach.
What You’ll Need
Experience as a Picture Editor – A strong background in editorial photography, picture editing, or newsroom production.
Proficiency in Editing Software – Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and other image-editing tools.
Strong News Judgment – A deep understanding of news, current affairs, and the ability to select images that enhance storytelling.
Knowledge of Image Rights & Copyright – Expertise in licensing, copyright law, and ethical considerations for editorial images.
Ability to Work Under Pressure – A fast-paced, deadline-driven mindset with the ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently.
Attention to Detail – A keen eye for image quality, composition, and storytelling impact
