Vast is looking for a Physical Security Technician III, reporting to the Senior Security Technology Specialist, to assist in the assembly, repair, and maintenance of the organization's growing physical security devices and requirements. The Physical Security Technician is a crucial part of the team responsible for keeping devices across multiple locations operational and online.
This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with installation of Vast’s access control, video camera, visitor management, door locking, and sensor systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on Vast’s access control, video camera, visitor management, door locking, and sensor deployments.
- Troubleshoot and service low voltage systems
- Manage timelines for install and report progress and expectations to Senior Security Technology Specialist
- Work across multiple Vast sites to ensure infrastructure stays live and updated across multiple locations within Southern California
Communicate effectively with other security team employees, in addition to other Vast stakeholders from adjacent teams
- Track work in an effective, organized, and timely manner, including preventative maintenance projects.
- Use knowledge of systems to assist in recommendations and site walks related to future security deployments and projects.
- Maintain relationships with our outside vendors and work to schedule their work at times that we are unable to service the equipment or need additional resources
- Ensure an adequate stockpile of equipment is on-site at all times
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with security system maintenance and installation
- Deep understanding of security cameras, VMS systems, and access control
- Ability to understand and work off of architectural plans. Also the ability to update or layout spots and dots on architectural plans.
- Experience with door and locking hardware
- Knowledge of low voltage wiring
- Experience with maintaining a physical keying system
- Experience building cores for restricted areas
- Experience assisting in alarm testing
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift over 30 pounds, work on ladders or scissor lifts, and willingness to occasionally work in small / tight spaces.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones
Pay Range:
- $35.51 - $43.41
