Join us as a Performance Analyst
Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. (“BBH”) is seeking to hire a Performance Analyst to join the Private Wealth Management Department. The Performance Analyst provides reporting and analysis in support of the Private Banking Business Unit. In this role you will be responsible for calculation and distribution of investment performance and related statistics for separate accounts, verifying the integrity of data used for performance reporting and ensuring Relationship Management teams are receiving required client service levels. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of GIPS compliance in relation to performance reporting.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
1. Reporting Analysis
-
Ensure various client projects and requests are completed in a timely fashion and meet or exceed standards.

Research and respond to internal and external client inquiries. Inquires may be related to unexpected investment portfolio performance results. Analyst may need to research the data that went into calculating performance (underlying accounting, cash flows, etc.)

Develop and maintain relationships with vendors.

Subject matter expert on investment performance.

Maintain Model Portfolio allocations at the direction of Investment Research Group and provide quarterly performance

Audit performance results, research accounting data, liaise with various Service Delivery groups on proper accounting input
2. Risk and Control
-
Ensure accurate and timely performance reporting and analysis.

Calculate and review performance in accordance with industry standards.

Assist with internal and external audit requests as needed.

Ensure existing procedures are current and meet standards.

Provide documentation for new procedures and ensure compliance with all procedures and controls.

Develop controls with SD groups to ensure data accuracy
3. Technology, Innovation and Productivity
-
Evaluate services and workflows related to performance improvement.

Provide consultation across departments to ensure compliance with BBH standards.

Identify ways to improve productivity within department.

Develop key internal relationships (examples: Front Office Operations and Administration, Relationship Management teams and Marketers) to aide in resolution of client issues.

Promote team atmosphere through exhibiting leadership, effective communication and professionalism.

Work across departments and with internal and external clients to ensure quantity and quality standards meet or exceed expectations.
4. Teamwork

Develop key internal relationships (examples: Front Office Operations and Administration, Relationship Management teams and Marketers) to aide in resolution of client issues.

Promote team atmosphere through exhibiting leadership, effective communication and professionalism.

Work across departments and with internal and external clients to ensure quantity and quality standards meet or exceed

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, Accounting or Finance Degree preferred
-
2+ years of relevant work experience
-
Knowledge of Excel, MS Word and standard desktop applications.
-
Experience with Bloomberg system.
-
Experience with the following systems would be a plus: FirstRate / Addepar/ CAPS

Emphasis on self-starter attitude and adaptability.

Exceptional communication in answering inquiries from senior management, and escalating to team management when appropriate

Good understanding of brokerage, clearance, settlement and securities operations.

Knowledge of Modern Portfolio Theory statistics and portfolio characteristics for equity and fixed income accounts.

In-depth knowledge of fixed income and equity markets, securities pricing, market indices, custom benchmarking, corporate actions and asset management accounting.

Interpersonal skills, excellent written & oral communication skills, excellent analytical ability, good organizational & time management skills, strong PC skills.

Ability to work well under pressure, good problem-solving skills and leadership qualities.
Salary Range
$75000-$85000
BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
