The Role: 

The Generate People and Culture (P&C) team is on a mission to create an environment where Generators from all backgrounds can thrive and are enabled to contribute their best. We are recruiting a visionary People Technology Consultant, to lead and support the strategy, setup, and execution of our P&C Technology and Artificial Intelligence capabilities, with a focus on the ongoing enhancement and capabilities expansion of our Workday HRIS system. This is a critical position on an innovative People and Culture team and a role deeply integrated with other functional areas across P&C, Digital, Finance, and the business. 

Successful candidates will be innovative HR technologists passionate about using technologies and AI to automate P&C programs, processes, and policies. Balancing visioning with planning and hands-on keyboard implementation of technology and AI will ensure we are leading in the People Technology field. In our fast-paced, start-up environment, you must be comfortable building and evolving programs and processes. You are a trusted consultant passionate about creating capacity by streamlining and automating work, leveraging digital tools to improve the employee experience, and providing exceptional service delivery and process execution.

Reporting to our Associate Director of People Technology, this role can be based in our Somerville, MA office, hybrid or remote. 

Here's how you will contribute:

Strategy

  • Contribute to the development of P&C strategies that align with business goals.
  • Adapt, refine, and maintain our Workday roadmap to support a business-aligned and data-driven vision and strategy.

HR Technology

  • Use your experience and knowledge of P&C practices, processes, and systems to solve complex problems through consulting, solutions design, configuration, testing, and deployment configuration in Workday and other technologies in our portfolio.
  • Operate as the primary internal and external support contact for our Workday application for assigned functional areas.
  • Partner with our digital team and external consultants to develop, manage, and monitor platform integrations.
  • In partnership with P&C, finance, and digital teams, identify processes that can be systematized, streamlined, automated, and implemented leveraging Workday or other technologies in our portfolio.
  • Lead functional system upgrades for assigned areas to ensure we continue capturing the value of future system enhancements.
  • Lead and/or support the implementation of additional Workday modules and applications.
  • Develop content and maintain Workday knowledge bases, including training materials, mini guides, and process/configuration documentation.
  • Mentor and guide team members, contributing to their professional development and ensuring execution amid changing project needs.
  • Deliver work using an agile product model, relying on persona-based design to ensure product delight. Responsible for maintaining backlog and setting clear priorities and accurate expectations with stakeholders.
  • Develop and deploy internal configuration practices, processes, and governance to sustain good system health and scalability.

AI

  • Research and advise on the use of AI solutions within or integrated with Workday to enable P&C (HR) programs and processes.
  • In partnership with People Technology leadership, Digital, and other teams; contribute to the development of a long-term plan for integrated AI.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • 10 years of professional experience with 5+ years of progressive hands-on experience with Workday configuration and administration in at least three of the following areas: Benefits, Time & Absence, Advanced Compensation, HCM, Integrations
  • Deep knowledge of configuration best practices and ability to lead initiatives to integrate best practices in Workday.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex system issues and presenting potential solutions.
  • Proactive and effective communication skills, clarifying tasks and objectives with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to make informed decisions that align functional practices with organizational goals based on understanding of the business operations and key drivers.
  • Understanding of data privacy and security protocols.
  • Experience building calculated fields and reports (advanced, matrix) in Workday.
  • Experience building creative solutions that push Workday to it’s limits.
  • Understanding of integration API connections (REST, SOAP, JSON, Webhooks, SFTP, etc.) and can help translate functional needs into technical requirements and perform data mapping.
  • Experience using AI to augment and accelerate their work.
  • Ability to work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
  • An analytical mindset and passion for finding creative and scalable solutions to problems.
  • Exceptional skills in prioritization, managing multiple projects, and fostering effective collaboration.
  • B.S. or higher degree in human resources, business, IT or other relevant subject area is preferred.
