Role Description
People Partners play an integral role on the HR Business Partner team, partnering with leaders, managers and employees to create a culture where people thrive. Working hand in hand with HR Business Partners and Employee Relations, People Partners are enablers for enhancing talent density, employee experience, and spearheading processes that build organizational health across Dropbox.
We are seeking a People Partner to provide best in class support and partnership to Dropbox leaders and employees. Your work will focus on: talent density, performance management, employee relations, workplace investigations, leaves of absence/accommodations, employee experience, offboarding, people projects and other operational tasks. You will also analyze important people data and metrics, including attrition and performance management trends, and create insights and recommendations for leadership. In your work, you will uphold our values and amplify the success of our business and products through our most important asset: our people. This role reports directly to the Head of EPD HR Business Partners (dotted line reporting to our Head of Employee Relations).
Responsibilities
- You will partner closely with the Engineering, Product & Design (EPD) HRBPs on employee relations issues, performance management, LOAs/accommodations, off-boarding, people projects, and administrative tasks
- You will work with HRBPs to handle first-line management of day-to-day employee relations issues in EPD
- You will own tracking for all performance management cases in EPD, and will partner with HRBPs to facilitate the performance management process from end-to-end for managers & employees
- You will own the accommodation process for all employees & managers in EPD, and interface with our external leave provider and our Benefits team on individual cases
- You will handle the off-boarding process for employees in EPD, including tracking and processing exits, conducting exit interviews & providing quarterly attrition insights and recommendations for orgs
- As needed, you will take on ad-hoc project work related to employee experience enhancements
- You also will provide general HR administrative support (e.g., agreements, reorgs, Workday) and support our HRBPs in executing our People Rhythm (e.g., assisting with annual reviews, talent reviews)
Requirements
- You have 8 years+ experience in HR or ER with a minimum 3 years experience supporting managers and employees through the performance management process, including providing coaching and guidance to managers on fair and principled performance management practices
- You have excellent judgement in handling employee relations matters and assessing outcomes, approaching matters with empathy and practicality while also striking the right balance between employee experience and business priorities
- You have strong attention to detail and posses a data-driven mindset, including a passion for reviewing data and using data to better understand important people trends (such as attrition, performance and org insights)
- You have strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to recognize nuance and make thoughtful decisions
- You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and can effectively tailor the way you communicate based on the situation and your target audience
- You are comfortable with being a truth-teller and delivering difficult messages with clarity and compassion
- You have a proven track record of positively influencing ICs, leaders, teams and cross-functional stakeholders to drive impact and results
- You are worthy of trust and can maintain confidentiality and privacy at all times, handling sensitive matters and sensitive employee information with the utmost integrity
- You have the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, and prioritize workload effectively
- You do well in an environment with shifting priorities and are able to be agile and resilient when faced with change, ambiguity, and novel situations
- You work effectively with others in a virtual-first setting, including collaborating with cross-functional partners (e.g. HRBPs and Legal) and the broader People team to build a better employee experience

- You are open to travel as needed; while you will generally work remotely from your home office, teams gather throughout the year for events and offsites and some travel will be required
- Proficient in Spanish (verbal and written) is desired
- Prior experience conducting internal investigations into employee complaints is a plus
