The Opportunity:

At commercetools, we are a mission-driven organization operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Our People Operations team plays a crucial role in ensuring every employee has the support and resources they need to succeed. We are seeking a Working Student who is eager to gain hands-on experience and mentorship in a scaling tech organization. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the People Operations team, support cross-functional HR projects, and contribute to the daily operations that drive our culture.

This role is 20 working hours per week and offers a hybrid work environment with three days a week in our local office. 

Your Mission:

  • Assist in daily employee administration and provide operational support to the People Operations team
  • Support strategic and operational HR projects with the potential to fully own certain workstreams
  • Research, analyze, evaluate, and interpret People data, trends, and competitive intelligence to support decision-making
  • Assist in handling employee inquiries, ticket resolution, and document creation
  • Fully own the management of physical documents, including reviewing incoming mail, scanning, and distributing materials accordingly
  • Support the administration of employee benefits in Germany, with the potential for expansion to other locations
  • Maintain accurate employee data in our Personio HRIS, ensuring smooth employee lifecycle management

What you need to succeed:

  • You are currently enrolled in a university program, ideally in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in HR operations, administration, and process optimization.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German.
  • Very good skills in Microsoft Office & G-Suite, experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Personio) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and take ownership of tasks
