The Role
SMEC is seeking a talented People & Culture Coordinator to join our ANZ People and Culture Team, based in Brisbane. This is a fixed term opportunity for 12 months.
As a Coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating all People & Culture (P&C) operational activities that strive to achieve productivity and efficiency through the employee life cycle. You will aid and guide client groups on a broad range of P&C queries including interpretation of policies, Workday (HRIS) procedures and basic advice on programs and practices under supervision.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Generating consistent and accurate workforce reports that assist the business in understanding People & Culture trends and enable decision making including new hire analysis, diversity and inclusion, leave reports, turnover statistics and exit interview data analysis and ad-hoc reports as required by the business;
- Supporting Business Partners and Centre of Excellence in facilitating THRIVE Performance Review training during the performance cycle to the relevant client group or as required including Goal Setting, Mid-Year Reviews and End of Year Reviews or other ad-hoc training as required;
- Supporting People & Culture Operations Lead and Business Partners in educating, coaching and supporting the client group with first and second level employee relations issues;
- Providing advice and guidance in relation to SMEC’s P&C policies, procedures and programs (e.g. onboarding, remuneration, rewards/benefits);
- Maintaining and updating local P&C records;
- Facilitating active discussion with employees to ensure employees fully comprehend issues;
- Effectively researches issues presented by employees and finds solution or escalates issues to People & Culture Lead or relevant Business Partner;
- Developing ability to interpret and apply the provisions of legislative, industrial and administrative regulations as they relate to P&C issues.
- Building relationships and collaborates with internal clients and key stakeholders;
- Maintaining discretion when dealing with highly sensitive information.
About You
Suitable applicants will have/be able to:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Human Resources, Psychology (or equivalent experience – Desirable)
- Relevant experience in a similar HR Administrator / HR Coordinator role in a corporate environment
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment
- Establish internal client networks with proven ability to develop and maintain trust;
- Intermediate/advanced MS Office skills
- Welcoming and approachable manner
- Good time management skills to work effectively and efficiently towards deadlines
- Emerging knowledge of generalist P&C best practice
- Excellent communication skills and highly service orientated
- Exposure to Workday or other HRIS is an added benefit
