Allied is looking for a People Business Partner (Human Resources) to join our Talent team in Montréal on a 14-month contract.

To summarize, the Talent function is a strategic partner at Allied, and the successful candidate will be instrumental in the continued delivery of our mission. 

What will you do?

  • Act as a strategic partner to designated business units, enabling the execution of Allied’s objectives through a proactive and empowering Talent strategy. 
  • Provide guidance and interpretation of HR policies, ensuring consistent and practical application. 
  • Manage employee relations and serve as a trusted advisor on Talent-related matters. 
  • Coach managers to enhance communication, deliver meaningful feedback and lead effective performance and development conversations. 
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to support recruitment. 
  • Advise on organizational design, workforce restructuring and succession planning. 
  • Identify learning needs and support the development of training programs and individual coaching plans. 
  • Oversee and report on the annual salary declaration process in accordance with Québec’s 1% training law. 
  • Lead or contribute to the design, implementation and delivery of company-wide Talent initiatives and special projects. 
  • Champion Allied’s culture and values, ensuring they are embedded in the employee experience. 
  • Partner with managers and employees to foster positive working relationships, boost morale and drive engagement, productivity, and retention. 
  • Support the leadership team with the execution of the annual employee engagement action plan. 
  • Provide subject matter expertise across compensation, benefits, retirement programs, performance and disability management. 
  • Support managers in delivering a seamless onboarding experience for new hires. 
  • Maintain and report on key Talent metrics using the Talent scorecard. 
  • Perform other duties and special assignments as required. 

  • Office Services  

  • Lead, support and develop the Receptionist/Office Coordinator to ensure smooth office operations. 
  • Oversee the overall efficiency of the office, identifying and implementing process improvements and ensuring high-quality administrative support. 
  • Manage core office functions, including budgeting, vendor relationships and internal programs. 

What are we looking for?

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • Strong knowledge of CNESST legislation and reporting requirements.
  • Expertise in Québec employment law and payroll practices.
  • Proven experience coaching and advising managers and employees on a broad range of HR topics.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and delivering HR programs and services aligned with business needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Experience designing and delivering training programs to diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Bilingual in French and English as you will interact with employees in both languages and report to the Director, People in Toronto.
