Responsibilites

Oversee the peer-review process of manuscripts, ensuring a timely and high-quality peer-review process and a smooth manuscript journey.

Screen lists of recommended reviewers in the Academia.edu database and look for suitable candidates outside the platform to ensure qualified reviewers are invited

Check the collected peer review reports and lead manuscripts through subsequent editorial decisions and author revisions.

Collaborate closely with authors to ensure all relevant information is collected in a timely manner and manuscripts are revised to reviewers' and editors' satisfaction.

Collaborate closely with the Publishing Managers of the assigned journals to prevent any delays and issues that could impact reputation or adherence to ethical norms.

Collaborate with the production service provider to ensure manuscripts are prepared according to internal guidelines and industry standards, and published without delays following the final acceptance.

Work independently and against short deadlines so the published papers meet the high standards of presentation expected by authors, editors, and indexing databases.
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in a natural or technical science field and sufficient proven experience processing papers for journals within natural or technical sciences fields. Master’s degree preferred but not required.

1.5 years experience overseeing the day-to-day peer-review activities for a scientific journal in a similar role within an academic publishing company or within the publishing department of a scientific society/association.

Experience working independently and demonstrating initiative.

Experience efficiently managing publication logistics for a large volume of manuscripts.

Familiarity with HTML, PDF, LaTex and XML formats

Strong skills using MS office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Ability to pay close attention to detail.

Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines.

Ability to adapt to change and to prioritize multiple responsibilities with a sense for business impact.
