Peat Harvester (Tractor Operator)

Scotts Canada Ltd. in St. Margaret’s, NB, is seeking individuals to fill Peat Harvester positions. These positions are permanent seasonal and the season typically runs from late- May and ends mid-October

Applicants MUST:

• Have reliable transportation & display acceptable attendance

• Work independently and as part of a team and be capable of working overtime on short notice

• Be capable of working in a dusty environment

• Must meet minimum requirements of the position within the probationary period

• No have physical restrictions limiting one’s ability to properly wear Personal Protective Equipment, climbing into and down from the operator cab multiple times per day, turning one’s neck when reversing or from lifting up to 50 pounds

• Provide a CPIC (Criminal Record) Check. Note: This is NOT a requirement for current Scotts Associates

• Must be able to safely demonstrate skills operating a farm tractor

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Operation of farm tractors with various attachments, such as harrows and vacuums

• Placement and removal of pile covers

• Yard & bog clean-up

• Possible operation of specialty equipment such as bog levelers, excavators, V-ditchers, etc.

Applicants MAY have to provide a driver’s abstract (driving record)

Bilingualism is an asset, but not a requirement.

Wages as per collective agreement.
