The Payroll Manager ensures the smooth and accurate processing of payroll while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the payroll function.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee Payroll Processing: Manage and coordinate the entire payroll process for North America, providing accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, including salaries, bonuses, commissions, and benefits.
- Compliance Management: Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations in North America, ensuring that payroll processes adhere to legal requirements, including tax filings, deductions, and reporting.
- Systems Management: Administer and optimize payroll systems and software, ensuring they are efficient, secure, and capable of handling the complexities of multi-state and multi-country payroll processing.
- Team Supervision: Lead and supervise a payroll specialist, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure payroll tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Indirect management with ADP vendor
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve discrepancies, issues, and inquiries from employees, management, and external partners, ensuring excellent customer service and timely resolution of concerns.
- Audit and Reporting: Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance, generate reports for management and regulatory purposes, and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve payroll processes, workflows, and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance, using technology and best practices.
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multi states and Canada, including but not limited to processing payroll on bi-weekly basis for hourly and salary direct deposit. Processing occasionally off cycle paychecks, or direct deposits as needed from the business.
- Collaboration: work in collaborate environment, prioritize results within deadlines
- Has experience with integration working with Workday, harmonizing payroll practices
Qualifications and Requirements
- Min. 7+ years proven experience in payroll processing multi-states
- Previous managing experience, leading a team of payroll professionals
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in finance, HR or have related field preferred, or equivalent industry payroll experience
- Proficient with managing ADP Global view payroll platform and ADP Workforce Now platform
- Proven track record of successfully managing payroll for a diverse team, including knowledge of multi-state payroll processing
- In-depth understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and standard processes
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and processing
- Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees and stakeholders at all levels
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues efficiently
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security
The expected salary range for this role is $95,400 to $116,600, but specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location and other job-related, non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
This role is also eligible to earn a short-term incentive bonus and the following benefits: 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays and paid sick leave.
