Job Summary:Functions under the direction of the Payroll Supervisor. Responsible for designated payroll activities.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:Responsible for all payroll activities for designated WellStar locations.
* Handle incoming emails and phone calls from Managers and Employees for designated areas.
* Input approved time adjustments as required.
* Handle all aspects of duties associated with WellStar Time & Attendance System.
* Sort payroll checks for distribution to departments.
Responsible for specific payroll deductions.
* Key and balance specific payroll deductions prior to payroll processing.
* Balance specific payroll deductions after payroll processing.
* Send payroll deduction reports to specific departments.
* Send Accounts payable checks for deductions to specific areas.
* Perform random audits of hospital accounts.
Manual checks.
* Receive manual check request.
* Check request for correct information and proper approval.
* Input necessary data in the Payroll system for processing.
* Send manual checks to designated locations.
* Perform what if checks when necessary for OT calculation.
Audit Timecards
* Biweekly audit random departments for all aspects of timecards.
* Audit usage of EIB.
* Audit employees with over 96 hours.
* Audit for Manager Approval.
Other duties
* Complete wage/retirement verifications.
* Check & file Employee Verification forms when received.
* Check employees termed for deductions and turn any hospital balances over to Patient Accounting.
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma General or GED General
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
Additional License(s) and Certification(s):Required Minimum Experience:Minimum 2 years of Payroll experience Required and
Kronos Time & Attendance and Lawson Payroll Preferred
Required Minimum Skills:Familiar with data processing input and printouts.
Knowledge of payroll operations.
Must be able to communicate with individuals in a courteous, professional, yet tactful manner.
Proficient in Excel and Word software, ability to operate standard office equipment such as copier, calculator, and personal computer.
