Job Description
The Payments Events Management Senior Associate supports event strategy and execution of events and conferences.
As a Payments Events Management Senior Associate in Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB), you will partner closely with marketing, social media/digital, and communications teams to enhance internal and external awareness of programming, broadening the reach of events/sponsorships. In addition, you will lead post-event/sponsorship responsibilities, including consolidating survey data, processing expenses, supporting/hosting debrief calls, and making recommendations for the future based on learnings.
Job responsibilities:
- Develop and execute events and third-party industry conferences/sponsorships for the Payments organization. Support an events strategy that aligns with business initiatives to enhance awareness of the firm's Payments capabilities and deliver meaningful interactions with clients and prospects.
- Support the development of (1) thoughtful agendas for JPMC proprietary events and (2) activations for third-party industry conferences/sponsorships (e.g., booths, branding, speaking roles, "wrapper" events). Partner closely with marketing, social media/digital, and communications teams to enhance internal and external awareness of programming, broadening the reach of events/sponsorships.
- Manage detailed budgets with ongoing monitoring and reporting, including tracking spend and documenting variances, and ensure invoices are processed.
- Lead pre-event/sponsorship activities, including securing business and legal/compliance approvals, conducting venue research, attending/hosting business planning committees, and building/managing detailed project plans, drafting event host and speaker briefing templates, drafting invitation copy and internal communications, liaising with the design team to devise and plan event collateral, conducting A/V tests, and owning detailed "run of show" documents, and developing on-site staffing schedules and operational documents.
- Lead post-event/sponsorship responsibilities, including consolidating survey data, processing expenses, supporting/hosting debrief calls, and making recommendations for the future based on learnings.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- 5+ years of work in marketing/communications, events, or sponsorships. Requires travel (25% of the time) and off-hours projects.
- Demonstrated track-record being flexible and operating in a dynamic, changing environment
- Excellent project management and time management skills; proven ability to partner with a range of stakeholders across functions and levels.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills; excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- demonstrated track record of thriving in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with minimal supervision. Team player that is self-motivated, entrepreneurial, effective under pressure.
- Strong desire to creatively problem-solve; proven ability to navigate/analyze complex data.
- Proven ability to operate with a sense of personal accountability; strong work ethic; high level of professionalism and integrity.
- Excellent/advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Financial services/Commercial banking or management consulting experience preferred; working in a large global organization.
- Experience managing events and sponsorships for founders, investors, startups, and high-growth companies.
- Marketing, Brand, Sales Support, Communications, Public Relations experience.
- Track record of driving innovation by challenging convention and identifying opportunities to develop unique, competitive sales and events/sponsorship programs.
- Expert in Microsoft suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, Vlookup, etc) and PowerPoint, and familiarity with TEAMS, Outlook, and SharePoint.
