About the Job
In this role, the Pathologists’ Assistant (PA) performs gross tissue examinations and photography of simple and complex surgical specimens. Will assist with workflow operations in the frozen section lab. The PA will ensure that all gross exams are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Here's what you'll do
- Assists in the performance of frozen sections with the requisite assistance of the Resident, Fellow, or Attending Pathologist.
- Ensures that initial preparation and triage of specimens is performed according to accreditation standards.
- Provides teaching assistance to all Residents and Fellows in surgical pathology rotation.
- Assists with maintenance of equipment and inventory in gross room and autopsy suite.
- Assists with the organization of tissue storage, retrieval, and discard.
- Completes autopsies.
- Serves as primary preceptor for Pathologists' Assistant students.

Required:
- Master's Degree
- Specific Degree: Biologic Sciences; Graduate of NAACLS approved Pathologists' Assistant Program
Licensure/Certifications
Required:
- Certified Pathology Assistant (ASCP)
- Other: New graduates Certified Pathologists' Assistant (ASCP) required within one year of hire

Pay Range: $104,000 -133,120 Annualized
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
