Your Responsibilities
As a Part Time Student - Software Engineer for John Deere ISG located in Cary, NC, you will...
- Support the development of tools & scripts for increasing efficiency and user experience in John Deere's OpenRTOS based embedded software development.
- Participate in innovation efforts to define the next generation of tools used by the entire embedded development community at Deere.
- Collaborate with Deere's embedded developer community.
This position is not available to students on immigration visas
What Skills You Need
- Passion for embedded software development.
- Object-Oriented skills with languages like C# or Java.
- Knowledgeable with Embedded C and scripting languages.
- Ideally you will be Pursuing Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent embedded systems experience.
- Graduation date of May 2025 or later
- Available to work during the academic year (16-20 weekly)
- Available to work during the summer semester (30-40 weekly)
- Must be registered as a full-time student at an accredited university
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with C#, Linux, and/or DevOps practices and tools
- Demonstrated experience with object-oriented software design
- Demonstrated experiences with embedded engineering
- Ability to program using Python, Perl, JavaScript
